Help choosing Membership site niche?

Hi,

so my plan is to make a fanpage on facebook that funnels to my email list. I want to promote a self improvement membership site or hobby membership site. I saw a successful membership site on decorating cakes for $27 a month called Yummyarts.

I guess where I am confused is on if facebook would work for this sort of traffic. I feel so frustrated because I can never decide on my niche. I feel like anything could work really if I provide value in the niche. Am I right to think this? Is there any tips someone can give me to know for sure if a monthly membership site would work in a certain niche? Thanks

Find people who are passionate about something and have problems that need solving. People will always pay to have their problems solved.

Facebook traffic will literally work for almost any niche.

Thanks. Should I just pick something like improve memory? But the thing is people only like pages they are proud to like right?

Yes, as I said PASSIONATE niches is the key.

Facebook is not going to work that well with things like medical conditions, etc as people are not likely to like a page called 'Hemroid Cures'. But other niches such as weight loss and the like can work well on Facebook.

I know I'm like a broken record lol. I just feel like maybe I'm making it harder then it is. I just pick a niche with a goal and make my fanpage. I just get my likes and promote my monthly membership site. I'm stuck on a good niche to choose though.

Will so in other words people like something they are proind of or want to show off. Do you think a page on how to pick up girls would work? Or I'd that too embarrasing gor guys to like?

I can't say. This is where your research needs to come into play. Don't rely on what others tell you because you'll find a lot of people talking the talk in this industry have never actually walked the walk.

You need to go out and do your own research. Go and see if others are already successfully doing what you want to do. That's the best sign that you are on the right track. Competition is a good thing because it gives proof of concept. A lot of people think if they see something no one else is doing that it's a good thing because they have found a unique idea but in most cases the idea isn't unique, it's just that others have tried it before and were never able to make it work.

Thanks WillR. So basically any niche that has a magazine out would work right?

    Great advice WillR.

I'd also add, that the niche needs to be something that YOU are really passionate about Corey.

It's gonna take the best part of 3-6 months+ to get it up to a decent membership base that is bringing in a good monthly income, so you'll want to make sure it is something you are passionate about and can personally sustain.
