Tips for a newbie - where to start?

Hey guys, glad to be part of such an active community.

I'm a self-confessed n00b to IM, just wondering if anyone has any seasoned wisdom as to where to start out?

Information overload has crippled me!

When you feel info overload kicking
    in, think about this...

There are only 2 main aspects to
    making money online. Concentrate
    on maximizing these, and you're
    golden.

1- Traffic... floods of high quality
traffic - the more the better.

    2- Conversions. The higher you
    convert, the more money you
    make.

Make sure the end result of
    everything you do is an
    increase in either of those.

    When you get confused,
    just remember that's all you
    need to do.

    Good luck

You're right. Also don't forget about the quality of your product, support as well as relationship building. That's what creates the missing aspect: repeat buyers.

It's easier to get someone to buy from you again if they're satisfied with the purchase than it is to get a new client.

    Hello,

First you need to know in which field you like to work.

Some people like to work in article marketing field, some people like to sell reports, some people like to blog, some people like to code softwares and then sell them, some people like to sell their services, some people think big and make big niche sites, some people like to do investments, some people like to flip domains ...

If you just take say report selling as a way to make money ... then you might not be able to enjoy the process. You need to know in which field you like to work.

    Regards
    Shakul

I agree with this. Think of , where you are good at, and something that you be comfortable and enjoy doing. Because if it works out well, you would be doing it for quite sometime. You dont want to be in the future, where your only motivation would be money.;-)

    Hey daedalus,

probably a good idea would be to read
some blogs. Just search through the forum users,
nearly everyone has a blog with plenty of usefull content.

But the most important thing is to actually follow through with it.
    Take action on daily basis!

Read more and understand the general ways of making money online first before you jump into any business. Then choose one and try to be focused in that particular money earning method.

Do some bum marketing learn the basics on how IM works but I think the most important thing is figuring out ways of gathering emails! But before you even jump into bum marketing figure out what product you are gonna promote. Research your product and come of up with creative ways of marketing it (blogs, ezines, etc..)

It might be a good idea to read the read the sticky "New?--Read This" by Ebbi...It's at the top of the page on the Main Internet Marketing Discussion Forum. It points out the best places in the forum for beginners to start out.

Also, I happen to love Ed Dale's free 30 Day Challenge. Just Google it.

Average monthly income? Don't know. Might be impossible to answer.

      Good luck.

There are many aspects of internet marketing that are important for you to be successful. But there are some things that you need to work on that are crucial to your success. These would be as follows.

Product Creation...selling you own products is by far the most profitable way to make money online.

Copywriting...unless you have money to spare this is mandatory part of your training, as said before if you can afford it you can always outsource it but it is expensive.

Traffic Generation....you can have the most impressive site out there but if you do not have any traffic then you do not have anything!

If you become even reasonably proficient in these areas you will make money online.

    Hi Daedalus1!

What you need to do first is to identify a group of people (ie. a niche market) who are LOOKING for something and then GIVE it to them!

Your product will need to do one of the following:

    - Solve a problem
    - Help the buyer to avoid pain
    - Help him to achieve happiness
    - Entertain him

Do a Google search - if there's other products out there offering something similar, you can bet your life that there's a market out there. Check if there's any publications relating to your product - that's a great sign too.

Once you've chosen your niche, join some forums and start building relationships with people in the same niche as you.

Think about creating a FREE report or ebook relevant to your niche. You then build a one page website/squeeze page and offer this report free in return for a name & email address. These people become your "List". You build a relationship with your List by sending out emails on a regular basis and after a while they will be ready to BUY something from you! You WILL have to learn how to attract traffic to your website but don't worry about that for now - until you have something to attract them TO!

It's VERY easy to become overwhelmed by all the information flying around - even within this forum. However, it is actually quite a simple process if we just take it one small step at a time.

    Good Luck!
