7 Factors I consider in Keyword Competition Analysis on Google
I have recently learning SEO and applying it right away to see the results and changing my strategy accordingly. I would like to share the Top Factors I analyse while performing Keyword Competition on Google.
Factor # 01 => Keyword in Quotes
Google this : "Keyword"
To see the total number of ranked websites/pages used keyword some where.
Factor # 02 => Keyword in Title
Google this : intitle:"Keyword"
To see the total number of ranked websites/pages used the keyword in title.
Factor # 03 => Keyword in Url
Google this : inurl:"Keyword"
To see the total number of ranked websites/pages used the keyword in url.
Factor # 04 => Keyword in Anchor
Google this : inanchor:"Keyword"
To see the total number of ranked websites/pages used the keyword in anchor text.
Factor # 05 => Keyword in Title and Anchor
Google this : inanchor:"Keyword" intitle:"Keyword"
Factor # 06 => Is ranked Page?
Manually check top 20 results in Google to see if the content on the ranked page is relevant to the keyword or just have mentioned it.
Factor # 07 => Is root domain relevant?
Manually check root domain of top 20 results to see if the whole website is relevant to the keyword or just the ranked page is.
Factor # 08 => Is ranked page the root domain?
Link suggest this in one go if the ranked page is the root domain or a sub page of a website. Sub pages of a website are relatively easier to beat.
Factor # 09 => Type of Website?
Analyse if the ranked page is a weak type of site user generated websites eg Yahoo answers, Article directories, Forums, Q&A sites, social sites etc
Factor # 10 => Page Links?
I use some tools like SEOquake to see how many links are pointed to the ranked page.
Factor # 11 => Site Links?
How many links are pointed to the ranked site.
Factor # 12 => Google Page Rank
Analyse Google page rank of the website
Factor # 13 => Maximum Bid Price
Check maximum bid price in the paid search results.
Factor # 14 => Number of Ads
Number of ads showing for the given keyword
