(Sorry if this is the wrong place) A little about me I'm a Music Producer and Engineer I have owned many successful studios and have had a great 13 year career but like everything else my industry is turning to the internet. I'm trying to change with the times but I'm completely lost I have never been good with the internet as far as social networking and marketing things like that. I have a web site where I'm trying to sell my music the site is up and I'm getting limited traffic and no sales what so ever lol. I'm motivated and excited about building my business online but I'm stuck! I just need help on where to start how do I get my site the traffic I need to make sales? I look at google ad words bing ads and I just don't understand how anything works! So if any one of you can find time to help me out it would be much appreciated. Or any suggestions on how to get started building traffic any help I will take it.
Thanks in Advance

You have to read many posts in this forum to understand the basics. You have a lot to learn.

Don't use Google Adwords without understanding what you are doing because you will lose your money for nothing in the end.

Before trying to drive traffic to your website you should find out if it is appealing enough, if your sales letters convert, and many other important details.

Share your site with us so we can give you some feedback and comments. Stay away from google adwords.. your going to need to do pure video marketing on this type of business and your going to have to learn how to leverage things like videohiv to do it. I'm glad to help ya on the forum here.

If you like my posts please leave a thanks and message me if you wish for me to follow up with your thread. I enjoy engaging with entrepreneurs and ALWAYS willing to take the time to offer solid answers that you can take to the bank. Internet marketing has made me rich over the last +20 years and this is how I give back to the community for all of those evil popunders I used to sling in the 90s.

I would definitely look into how you can utilize Youtube. That can be huge for driving traffic with your niche.

You might want to also consider trying to build multiple streams of income. Generally speaking, making money from a website takes a lot of time, even if you are using paid advertisements. You have to optimize again and again to finally see results. Then it's a whole other level to scale it. It's not to say you shouldn't keep it up. You should if you really enjoy it. It's just always a good idea to look at a couple other options too that would have some guaranteed returns.

  • Hey Motrakx,

You have a head start on a lot of people on this forum. You have a product and you have a ton of experience producing this product. What you should do next is put your product in places online that your target audience/crowd of potential buyers would browse when looking for products similar to yours.

Read up on and learn how to implement:

Research to understand your target audience; understand who you are selling to (what are their search habits, what are some similar characteristics that people in your target audience share)
Landing pages that advertises a specific product (in this case: music beats)
Pay Per Click Advertising (Google Adwords and Bing Ads targeting your target audience)

It is important to understand who you are selling to. Map out what the customer does to buy your product and you will know where to go and what to do in order to sell to them before your competition. In order to put together a more proper marketing campaign, you must first research your target audience.

You being a musician, I think you will need to build a following first. Use Facebook, Youtube and Twitter to build a fan page, so you can interact with your fans.

Music is tricky because people have to like your music before they buy it, so social media is a great way to get your music out there
