what should i do with my creation

i have wrote a comprehensive ebook covering a niche i know very well and is relevant to everyone in the world at some stages in life

now,,,,i made a web site to sell the book from but have not had it on sale just yet, it's 20,000 words over 12 chapters. I was planning on a sale price of roughly £4-5

however now i am thinking it might be more fruitful to create a web site instead, using all of the text created for the book, that way i can add a forum perhaps and blog

what do you all think? would there be more potential for money going with the ebook idea or website idea? or both even for maximum profit?

thanks

  • Try the email list approach, which is often overlooked but the most profitable long term -

Give your book away for free (or a portion of your book) to lure your site visitors into signing up to your list. Or write a 1000 word guide to people to sign up and market your book through the list. You can market to them over and over - your book and other offers too. The list is your best asset because nobody can take that away from you.

Also since you are an author, I'd make the leap that you are an expert in your field. If your subscribers view you as an expert and you can continue to add value you will be well on your way.

Learn auto responders via aweber or another email service

But remember never spam offers you don't use or believe in and always add value

Definitely start by building a list in that niche.

Maybe think about offering a condensed version or first chapter as a freebie and then sell the whole thing as an OTO or back end.

    Hope this helps

That's kind of a hard question to answer. Much depends on what your book is about, the quality and the "need" for it.

A forum is going to be ALOT of work and they are often tough to monterize.

As mentioned, a good way to go should be to build a list, using a chapter or two as the give away and then promote the main ebook in future emails, or promote it after they give up their email address.

Plus with a list, you could promote other related products, not just your own. You have so much more flexibility with a list.

  • Try to sell it as a book in places like Amazon. Get it published and use the Amazon page that features your book for sale as your sales page to re-direct people to it from search engines, social networks, and other websites to your product. Think about developing a sales funnel that guides and prepares the online customer to buy your product; so that by the time they are on Amazon, they are more likely to buy your book.

    Why not both?

You can have a blog/website and sell your ebook at the same time, with the website supporting the sales of the eBook.

At any rate start by building an email list.

What I'll would do (what I'm working on myself) is to create another product (for example video course) that's more in depth than your report and sell that on the back end. On the front end give away the ebook as an incentive for people to join your list.

Off course it's depentant on quite a few factors, just your niche, the quality of the product, demand, etc.
