There is a lot of great information in this forum devoted to Kindle (even a subforum) so I would say research some effective Kindle publishing techniques so you can sharpen your saw and then spend time every day cranking out your ebooks. Over time, your results would snowball into a nice passive income - without a doubt!
If what you said is true, it is a dream come true for those of us who like to write. I love to write so perhaps Kindle is something I could devote my time to?

Do Kindle titles that are SEO optimized appear high in the search engine ranking search results for those people who are Googling and Binging certain search terms? If so, a person could use those search terms in the title of their book and because their Kindle book is listed on Amazon their book would appear in the top half of the first page of Google for that search term that people are typing in?!?!?!

Mostly I would prefer pox or even advertising on amazon itself .
Also be sure to do thorough keyword and search analysis before creating a book.

    Good luck

It difficult to get on first page of Google for your keywords just like that but you can either make a trailer video and/or blog optimized for your keywords and rank on Google.

However, if you build some links to your Kindle ebook you can also rank on Google book.

Writing can be profitable and enjoyable, but remember, a business is something that runs without you. I've written my own books and they make good money, especially since I have an audience with my blog and whatnot, but it's even more profitable to outsource my Kindle books and automate the entire process. In the amount of time it takes me to write my own book, I can have outsourced 20 Kindle books and have them published making money. Writers don't make money (Frank Kern said that), MARKETERS make money. Be a marketer if you want to profit the most and succeed, but you can also write too if you want. :-)

Have to disagree. Some of the hottest writers on Kindle are making thousands of dollars each and every month and it is not from spending the bulk of their time marketing.

Yes, I do feel you have to get the word out on your books but their are different approaches. And some of the "real" writers who are not out sourcing but are actually "GASP" writing their own stuff are making bank and many of them spend most of their time writing not promoting.

Yes you can rank books in both Google and in Amazon. And it does help to have search terms in your book title or subtitle for both fiction and non-fiction.

Growing a massive base of rabid readers is what can propel your books into making huge numbers and sure promo is involved but so is providing a quality product that readers are looking for. This is where many Kindle "gold rushers" fail.
