Clickbank: Product selection and vendor contact question

Hello

I am looking through the threads and with regards Clickbank I wanted to ask

1. Do you actually see the products you review? It seems better to actually see/test what you are promoting. But do some of you base you selection on other factors?

If you do do a real review, do you buy the product or get review copy from the vendor?

2. I have been looking at the CB site and I couldn't see how the vendor could be contacted (perhaps it's just me). If you are dealing with a small number of vendors who have great products, do you not want to build a relationship with them as you would with say a supplier in the physical world?

Thanks

    Hello,

To answer your first question, I actually buy the product, go through it and base my review on personal experience. Sometimes you are able to get a review copy but I think you have better chance of getting a review copy if you can show that you are a very experienced affiliate, otherwise just buy it. Most products have 30 day money back policy so if you want you can just return it after reviewing it

Once you become a member of Clickbank, you can promote any product they have there so you don't need to get approved by them. You can contact them, usually you will find contact info on the actual website of the product. As it goes for building a relationship - just start getting sales and the relationship will build itself

Ask for a copy to review on your site. Show them your site. If they don't give you a copy then make a post on your site saying vender was unwilling to let me review. See how they like that!

Best way is to purchase the product. However, if the product is relatively new then the affiliate resource section may have an email address for requesting a review copy.

I've seen that many new product owners are providing review copies. They normally ask you to fill justification form for releasing review copy.

You should always look at products before promoting them. You won't last long if you don't.

If you are expecting others to spend their money and buy the product then that is what you should do also.

      Thanks Will.

I have had people buy and request a refund within the space of an hour. Are they reviewing or just stealing? If anyone takes up Russerg's suggestion to buy then get a refund, they risk a ban by Clickbank if they do it more than once or twice.

I have supplied an occasional review copy to someone whose qualifications indicate an ability to market the product, but because importing is a small niche there are not many who seem able to target that audience, so I get most of my sales as a result of my own marketing.

Of course I wouldn't suggest getting a refund on every product you buy. But if you are building your first site and don't have much money than you can do it that one time.

Otherwise buy it and keep it.

The good thing about keeping a product is that if there are any updates on that product you will know right away and can add to or revise your review

    1. Yes, by LAW you have to have actually used the product in order to review it. So the people that do "reviews" by looking at the sales page...they're breaking the law...and filling up the net with garbage content no one reads. Contact the vendor and ask for review access/review copy. We usually say yes. If not, reconsider or buy it and review it and refund it within the time frame.

    2. Typically, we vendors leave contact info on affiliate pages, which are listed in the CB marketplace (and sometimes on the sales page footer) within the product listing. If a vendor doesn't have an affiliate page, seriously re-consider networking with them, since I see that as an amateur mistake.

Finally, you are absolutely right! Relationships and networking is vital in online business. So keep forging those relationships.
