How do you set up your autoresponder email series?

It was brought to my attention that sending out "blog broadcasts" really isn't the best way to go. Rather, it's better to just send emails to your list as part of your "series".

Currently I have my emails setup so they instantly get an email right when they opt-in to my list (in order to get their freebie).

Then there is a follow up email that is sent 3 days later.

Then there is a follow up that is sent 7 days later

Then there is a follow up that is sent 14 days later (one week after they initially joined).

- I'm confused as to what to do from here? Do I just keep adding more and more "follow ups"?

- What about people that have been on the list for a long time? Do they start getting repeat emails after they have been sent all of the follow-ups?

Basically I'm confused as to how you keep sending the long term subscribers fresh new content, while avoiding doing a "blog broadcast".

I'm currently trying to set my autos ponder series up and all of these questions are popping up in my mind as I'm goin through this.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Yes ... you need to keep adding more an more follow ups

Just a suggestion ... you should probably keep your follow messages a little bit closer together especially right away ... If not, they will tend to forget who you are and may report you as spam

Look at your email newsletters as a way of staying in touch with you visitors continuously. Use it as a medium to build your relationship with them and get the trust factor going. Once that is in place selling becomes so much easier. So curate content and provide your subscribers the best they need to know in your niche.

This all depends on how your email marketing is set up. Some people
have an email series that run for a year. Others have an automated
short series along with broadcast emails. Autoresponder Madness
is a great product that shows how the two work best together.

    Hi,

Yeah I agree that you should at least keep your subscribers hot for the
    first few days at least.

Let them exactly what they're going to get, how often and why they
are going to receive those emails.

I've found it's far better to be as transparent as you possibly can
during the first few days by allowing your new subscribers to get to
know who you are and what you're about.

Remember that you can always split test different messages at
different intervals against one another to see which works best
and produces the best results for you and your subscribers.

Try adding any contact details at the end of your emails in the
first few emails you send out too.

I find that my subscribers always respond better to the sequences
where I've left my contact details at the end.

I suppose it just gives them more confidence and trust in you as
    a marketer.

It shows that you're not just a robot sat behind a computer and
that you are actually there to help them.

Hope this helps you out in some way.

    Regards
    Gavin

I personally like to stick with my subscribers for 360 days. That's 120 emails spaced out 3 days apart. After the first year, i usually give up on my subscribers.... not the same with my backend list though... i mail to them forever - or until they unsubscribe.

Blog broadcasts are fine. I only typically use them when doing special promotions though.
