Hello everyone.
Well i had some problem by choosing a niche to start a blog.
So i wanted to ask if you guys can give me some examples of profitable niches. I don't want to write about MMO since i don't have experience with that. Any suggestions?
And do you think a blog about unusual diseases would be able to actually make some money?
Or would it make more sense to write about technology?
Or do you have a better idea?
I do have interest and some experience in both of those niches and i would have no problem in doing lot's of research about it.
I want to monetize my blog mainly trough Adsense and maybe some affiliate adds.

I'm sorry for asking that type of question but I'm really stuck at choosing a niche.

All the best
-Nick

The natural and organic health niche is exploding and worth exploring.

What exactly about health? I don't really enjoy giving people advice on living healthy and this kind of stuff.

Check amazon or clickbank for established, successful health products to market as an affiliate. Its not required to give health advice.

Stick with the 3 main markets - health, wealth and relationship. Within these markets you should go for a sub niche. Take a look at the categories inside clickbank and you will find many niches & sub niches. Alternately look at cbengine.com categories for finding niches. Another good place to find niches is amazon

What interests you, what excites you, what could you think about all day and learn about everyday and still be fascinated about? If you aren't exploring something you enjoy, go get a job, because essentially all you are doing otherwise is creating a job for yourself.

Figure out something you would happily write about for free for the next twenty years, and figure out what is needed in that area that doesn't exist yet, then provide that to the market and you will find success.

Someone else telling you something is only going to tell you something that is trendy, in other words, overcrowded, and played out, or something they are into, and that might not suit your tastes.

There is an area I LOVE, with a microniche that NOBODY is filling, and I'm getting ready to fill that, why? Because I love the topic, and I saw the weakness. You will find the same thing if you explore something YOU LOVE.

Will I make money by filling my microniche? Probably not at first. I expect to lose my ass for about a year, by which I mean, do NOTHING, zilch, NADA to make a buck in that area, but that is during a period when I will build content and hopefully nurture an audience. When I have nurtured an audience of significance, then I will roll out about 10 products and services that I see which are lacking today in that niche. Some of those services will be quite pricey, and I should make money by providing those services, which will allow me to move into lateral markets and make more money.

I fully expect to lose about $1500 during the time I am nurturing my audience because I will be spending money on hosting, domains, and other necessary services to provide my content. However, I also expect that at the end of a year I will have a regular audience of more than 10,000 people who will be happy to spend money to allow me to continue to provide valuable content to them, while also providing a service which is completely lacking in the market.

The money I make in that arena should be more than enough to allow me to continue doing something I will enjoy, and do additional related projects I will enjoy which will likely allow me to make more money.

What you are good at is what makes a perfect niche for you because if you really like what you are doing things get much easier. You are more convincing with more chances of doing the perfect job.
I would say "ways to make money" ;-) (It seem quite frequent in search engines)

What job do you do? Niches related to your job can be good, especially as there are likely to be far less experts in that niche.

My first online business was spun-off from something I used in my day job.

I still have a great income stream operating in a niche in which I used to work. It makes perfect sense. While it's a bit dry, I know it well.

Unusual diseases is interesting, but check the competition if you're going for search engine traffic. Sites like WebMD and others tend to dominate. I don't think that niche is all that great for social media because people don't tend to want to share their interest in an unusual disease (just a hunch - I may be wrong).

Tech is competitive, but there's no doubt many micro-niches in the space.

ANY niche can be profitable, regardless of the competition, provided you're knowledgeable enough about it and offer outstanding value and/or service to your customers.

Target niches that are growing but also where people spend real money. Some niches that are really good right now:

    1. Medical tourism (healthcare costs rising in the West and many people are now opting for surgery abroad - one affiliate sale on this is almost like a monthly salary in some cases).

    2. Peer to peer lending. Banks are pretty much skint, or at least refusing to lend in the way they once did. This has created a huge black hole in terms of loan financing that ordinary companies/people need to survive financially. So, P2P lending sites (crowd funding) have stepped in to breach the gap. Nice CPA payments available with the big ones, and this industry might actually replace the whole notion of bank lending over time.

There are plenty more. Just go where the money is, if you're trying to make it yourself.

I would target niches where the payouts are usually high:

    A) forex
    B) web hosting
    C) etc..
