Hey guys,

I have been on here for only a few months, starting with absolutely nothing. Since those months, I have managed to accumulate enough money which should assist me dramatically through my future endeavours in terms of online marketing. I hope this thread does not come off as 'bragging' or making me sound arrogant, but simply to assist those who have yet to make money online.

Right now, I have been mainly focusing on freelance writing through several places online. I have made money off of each place I have registered, but some more than others. Below are two methods online which I have focused on which have given me the opportunity to enhance my knowledge in regards to online marketing. Please bear in mind that these methods are short term -- and an excellent starting point for beginners.

Fiverr
Fiverr is the very first place I have made money online. Prior the Warrior Forums and Fiverr, I was oblivious to the amount of money that was possible to be made online. I was only aware of the typical survey schemes which I never even bothered with considering I would be spending hours for just a few cents/dollars here and there.

I started with Fiverr primarily to see if it was actually possible to make money online. Considering the fact I am a student, I figured it would be convenient to work for myself when I needed to opposed to working for someone else on their terms. Thus, I began writing for people on Fiverr. It started off slow, but has since been somewhat consistent over the 2-3 months since my registration. Out of excitement from my first few dollars, I told my friend about it and he has surpassed me, which I am happy about considering I was the one who told him about Fiverr, and basically told him what to do. Let's just say that he no longer needs my assistance.

Over the past month, here are the statistics of my Fiverr:

Understandably, it is not a lot of money. I try to complete my gigs within 10-20 minutes, and sometimes it literally takes me 30 seconds to complete a gig requested.

What you need to do is discover what you're good at. I offer two services, one which is writing for people. I don't consider myself a 'professional' at writing due to lack of experience if we're comparing me to someone who has written for 20+ years as a career choice. That being said - I do consider myself above average in terms of my age group.

So basically, to make spare cash via Fiverr, here is a list you should follow:

1. Offer a service you're good at (writing, voice overs, drawing, etc.).
2. When starting, make the gig an express gig.
2. Include a video in your gig.
3. Ensure you write high quality articles/reviews or whatever you decide to do, but make sure it's completed within a reasonable time. There's no point putting hours into a piece of writing for $5. If it takes you that long, then you're probably writing in the wrong place, or don't fit the criteria of a writer given you probably spend too much time editing the grammatical and spelling errors.
4. Ask the support team to promote your gig. If it contains enough positive feedback and is worthy of a promotion, then they will not simply reject the proposal. I have had my gig promoted simply by asking, and there were no second thoughts.
5. Once you reach level 1, you will have the choice to create gig extras, which can enhance your earnings dramatically. People won't be concerned about paying $5 extra dollars, whether it be for your gig to be delivered faster than anyone else's, or an additional 50 words.
6. Don't let your clients take advantage of you. You need to let them know that if they order a gig, and don't take into consideration of your rules, then it will not be acceptable. I'm not saying to be aggressive, but to ask them politely to read the gig thoroughly, and ask if they can modify the order. Most of the time they will cooperate with you. If they don't cooperate, you have two choices: 1. deal with it and complete the order, or 2. ask the support to cancel the order. The main reason for this is due to the fact you will receive a cancellation ratio which is not good for your gig.

Remember: the first sales are generally the hardest. I fortunately did not have to advertise my gigs whatsoever.

Please note that for me, this is short term. I enjoy writing for people (beats flipping burgers), but I do not acquire the patience to do it for a living. That being said, there are people who indeed make a living through Fiverr.

oDesk
I have had around the same amount of luck through oDesk, but generally it required more work from personal experience. I don't use oDesk a whole lot anymore, simply because the offers are generally garbage (no offence to anyone). If I see a job which is to write a small paragraph for around $10, I'll happy apply to it. It has unfortunately come to the point that those jobs are rare, and people are for some unknown reason willing to undersell themselves for a measly $2/500 words. I will never understand why they do this, probably because I'm living in a more expensive country than most on there (maybe?), however I would never sell myself that low. I have made several hundred through oDesk, starting around the same time as Fiverr, but the work was generally more full on. The same principles apply with oDesk and Fiverr: don't undersell yourself, and if you do a job - do it properly.

I have stated this once, but I'll do it again: I don't personally insinuate people do this full time unless you are really struggling financially. These methods are simply a free way to make money online. (I say free in terms of money wise, not time wise).

    Good start - well done!

Now make sure you are capturing the email addresses of your customers and then you will be able to sell them other writing services in the future.

    Thanks guys!

I'd also like to add that as I've been using Fiverr, I have been studying other online methods which I plan to execute in due time.

Cool! It will surely get easier as time goes by. I've personally contacted people through fiverr to stay long term with me and now they just do some work and I pay them straight through Paypal. Hopefully you can get a good deal like this!

The online lifestyle is pretty cool once you break into it,

    Good luck man!

Maybe I should do the same. I've kept in contact with some from oDesk, but not Fiverr.

      Good going!

I have always said more people would stick with Internet marketing if they just got the taste of making their first dollar in their mouth. It is addictive for sure.

Best of luck going forward and making even more money!
