Got A New Idea For A Website

I have a family friend who is a dentist and he says his firm spends a ton of money on advertisement. i was wondering if i could get a domain close to where i live like (city name)DentistReviews.com and email the city and ask them if they would like unlimited advertisement on the site for a one time payment of $200.

What do you guys think?

If your site doesn't have any traffic, then why will they pay 200$?

Well i didnt make the site yet. or buy the domain. but i dont know do you think they would that much research about the site? i was thinking they would just visit it and think okay yeah its worth $200 then buy a spot because how would they know if the site gets traffic or not.

It is quite simple, they can ask you for the traffic statistics of your site (for example from Google Analytics).

What if you used Adfly or something to get some traffic too it? then show them trafffic os going to it. Or is that BlackHatish.

If you drive traffic to your site and the traffic looks legit in Google Analytics, then it is fine and will work great.

Do you think they want to see the traffic source? because adfly would all just come from adfly.com or do you think they just care about the page view numbers and not where the traffic is coming from.

Professional webmasters will check all the details of your traffic including the source of the traffic, so if all the traffic comes from adfly.com they will easily know you are cheating.

It is a good idea but most companies will want to conduct a quick traffic proof check. I don't know if this is the absolute best idea, but maybe it would be a good idea to invest in some paid traffic for the website. I am sure there are plenty of paid traffic companies that can deliver quality traffic for 50-100$ a month. If the client pays you 200$ a month and you spend 50 or 100 on traffic... that is an additional 100$ a month...

    Just my 2 cents.

This is definitely not a new idea, there have been countless WSO's on doing this and while it may appear easy in theory, execution can be a totally different thing.

First of all, why would you only charge $200 once? Makes no sense.

If you want to do this, you need to build a PROFESSIONAL looking site, with good content that you can then work on either driving traffic via paid methods or SEO.

Dentists, lawyers, contractors etc... are professional people, they aren't going to do business with some dude who threw up a wordpress site.

Once you have a site that is actually getting qualified traffic then you'll have no problem selling adspace to dentists etc... but you need to offer something of value otherwise you are just wasting your own and everyone else's time.

The time thing is all in your head... You'll waste far more time and effort trying to find a method that doesn't take much time or effort than you'll ever spend doing something worthwhile.

        TRUST ME!

But honestly, you may have better luck with the QR thing, could turn out to be quite lucrative if you do your posters well and find the right offers!

Let us know how it goes!

It's not that it's blackhatish, it's that it's just not a legit way to run a business. You can charge a lot more for a site like that if you have legit traffic going to it. You're on the right path, but you gotta adjust your ethics a little bit. I know from experience that it's not hard to get traffic to the type of site you're talking about, so just do it the right way, and figure out a way to charge a premium.

Edit: Nevermind, you're already on a different track.
