Can some one help me to understand keyword research with google tool?

I am trying to build a blog online through blogger. I have spent tons of time understanding key word research using the google free tool. Can someone help me with the numbers? What are good numbers to go by in each of the categories? I know to use high paying in the cpc area, but what about the search volume area? I can't seem to get it right, because my keywords are never noticed. Also is it the same when you are finding keywords for article marketing?

    You might want to reconsider using Blogger.

    With Blogger, you don't own it. They do. (With WordPress, you can install it on your own domain, so you own your blog.)

    Also, why would you want to drive traffic to your Blogger blog only to encourage them to click "Next Blog" up at the top?

    Just my two cents...

    I won't recommend you to use Blogger.com as it has a B.S habit to ban your BLOG if it got a sudden increase in traffic.It think that you must have ventured into any kind of spamming activity to promote your site..

    The reason your keywords are probably not getting noticed is that you are in the highly competitive niche of Internet Marketing.

    This is a tough niche to be in for sure.
