How much money are guys making with Internet Marketing?

What are your results? Are you still struggling, or are you happy with your results.

Are you financially free?

From what I read and understand, if you want to drive free traffic, you have to have either 1. lots of followers and subscribers in social media or 2. lots of backlinks.

I'm trying to get lots of followers and subscribers on Twitter, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Flickr and Tumblr. I'm considering buying some tools to do this. So far with YouTube I have see Tube ToolBox, with Twitter there are a multitude of tools such as Tweet Adder, and the others I'd have to do a google search to see them.

It will probably take at least a month before I get a sufficient amount of subscribers or followers before I start trying to send them to my blogs, press releases, squidoo pages, articles, websites,

I'm still a newbie in internet marketing, but in the last couple of days I've read some material on mobile marketing - SMS, QR codes, location based services and geofencing, display ads and paid search.

Some of the guys have said that it is too late to get into internet marketing, but you better start NOW in mobile marketing, or you will miss the huge explosion of sales once mobile marketing becomes the new standard.

Too late to get into IM? Who is saying that? Don't listen to any other advice those people give you because they clearly don't know what they are talking about.

The IM market is growing each day and so there is always plenty of room for those who stand out and above the rest. If you just try to be like everyone else then yes, you will struggle in IM. But that will be the same in any industry you try to penetrate.

Mobile marketing is great as well as paid traffic from ppc and banners. I'm not a big fan of free traffic but if I didnt have a budget for paid traffic then I would start there. Yes, money is being made every single day online but you have to work just like a normal business.

Gonna have to disagree, IM is getting harder and harder each and every day. Only people who tell you otherwise are the people that make money from the suckers that think otherwise.

You sound a bit bitter to me

I think IM has gotten way more easier than lets say 5-10 years ago. More and more people are using internet, nations are transforming to be information and service societies, globalization is increasing, world is more connected, etc.

There is increasing amount people online who have problems you can solve. It is easier to reach them (social media for example), there are tons of more options for paid traffic.

I just love this business. Competition is a good thing. It tells you that there is a market you can serve

Yep, IM is getting more difficult but it's also true that more and more people are trying to make money via IM. I think the diffuculty is keeping up with all the new technology. What worked 2 years may not necessarily work today, I suppose it's a case of keeping up with new techniques and mobile marketing is certainly a new way to get more people involved and greater market share.

Hey guys, turn those threats and weakness into opportunities. Change can also be a good thing if you know how to capitalize it Think positive. See those problems as a changes to up your game.

If everything worked as they used 5 years ago there probably wouldn't be any market left as it would be pretty saturated.

    I know people making 0 / month.
    I know people making $25 / month.
    I know people making $100 / month.
    I know people making $1000 / month.
    I know people making $10,000 / month.
    I know people making $100,000 / month.

IM is a huge and growing market.

IM is not just limited to "making money online".

It can be the online promotion of any offer.

As long as people spend money, there will always be opportunity.

People LOVE to buy stuff (just watch the feeding frenzy that will happen on Black Friday this week in the US).

People also want to be happy.

And those people who finally realize they are the masters of their own happiness will gravitate to the freedom and incomes that Internet Marketing provide.

I have made so far almost 12,000 this year from eBay. I am branching out in other niches, but have not made anything from them yet. I sell something on eBay most people on here has never thought of. A lot of people could not do this because of where they live, but i have done good with it selling rare breed hatching poultry eggs. I live in the country so it is no problem for me.

Your post is really about 3 different things. As for your point about mobile marketing, I think there's still a huge opportunity there and there will continue to be. It's almost always better to get in things earlier rather than later, but that doesn't mean it's too late.

As for your point about driving free traffic, it's great to have the two things you mention and I suppose I'd agree with the idea that it does take quite a bit of time. When it comes to traffic to a website, there aren't overnight fixes for huge numbers, though there are things you can do to see some kind of result overnight.

As for your question about where we are financially, it's an interesting one to pose, but financial freedom will look a lot different for everyone. For me personally, it's when I can completely replace my income with what I do online. At this point, I probably could, but I still want to be careful. You always want to take time to test what is working for you and make sure it is sustainable for a long time.

I'm doing quite well, especially considering I'm a student full time and still saving up lots of money for later on. My main problem is the worry that my income will dry up, especially from my main sources like Kindle eBooks. IM is DEFINITELY still viable, and probably more than ever. Obviously you're going to have to stray from the 2006 affiliate marketing methods and evolve with the rest of the internet but you can still make a great income in IM.
If you're interested I do business eBook publishing, some affiliate marketing and sell web hosting on the side (mainly, along with other passive income streams).
    Good luck,
    Alex.

Defining "Internet Marketing" as an actual business in and of itself, is a major flaw among those who even call themselves "Internet marketers". And that is why SO MANY head down the wrong road from the get go.

The Internet is a marketing tool. A very power tool, but still just a tool. The business is completely separate from the tools that are used to market that business. Anybody who tells you otherwise is a tool.

    - There are advantages to creating an actual business that can leverage the marketing opportunities that the Internet has to offer.

    - One is the power behind the market research you can do. Holy Cow! I remember companies gathering market research with clipboards in malls!

    - Another is the speed at which you can bring the marketing message of your actual business to your target market.

    - Another is the very low cost channels available using the Internet to market your actual business.

But don't fall into the trap that "Internet Marketing" and "Mobile Marketing" are actual businesses. Sheesh.

In fact, beware of regurgitators wearing "I'm an Internet Marketer" hats. They're all over the place. They are definitely tools you should avoid.

First step - plan and design your business model...like for realzies...like an actual business. Then look to the Internet for those constantly changing opportunities to promote your actual business ... including those who use the Internet via mobile and other devices - and a whole bunch of other crap that will come out next year that we don't even know about yet.

So marketing your actual business using Internet based tools? Nope not dead. And nope you're not too late.

As long as you put the work in, and do things properly it is still very easy to make money online. Currently I am pulling in about $550 a day and steadily climbing. Most of this traffic is organic, but I am starting to focus on other types of traffic. If you have a good knowledge base to start with it can be quite easy to make $50-75 a day just putting in the time for a few months.

Spend the next 2-3 months just reading this forum daily. There are probably over 300,000 threads about online marketing.

Just a quick tip for your long journey: making money online can only be 2 out of three: cheap, easy, fast.
      - You can make money cheaply and easily but it won't be fast
      - You can make money easily and fast but it won't be cheap
      - You can make money cheaply and fast but it won't be easy

So make your pick, don't believe hype, try things, learn, make mistakes and share what you have learned
