Wordpress or Shopify??

Ok folks,

I am having a bit of "growing pains". I am in the process of opening a digital ecommerce store. I have always used wordpress + e-junkie in the past and have no problem doing the same going forward. I have also begun to experiment with shopify (already looked into Magento, BigCommerce, osCommerce, etc). I like shopify + digital downloads app. My concern lies with wordpress updates in the future. What if the wordpress theme developers cease to update the theme? What if it fails to keep up with technolical advances? I like Shopify but obviously it comes with a monthly price. The benefit with Shopify is that I don't have to worry about platform updates as Shopify will do that for its store owners. Any insight from those with experience will be appreciated.

    I would (strongly) recommend Shopify if you are going with eCommerce.

    They are built for eCommerce and eCommerce only.

    Not to mention, the list of 3rd party plugins is growing every week. Their control panel is super easy to setup. If you want a custom theme, they even have a directory of Shopify Expert Theme developers who can do more than you could imagine.

    I could go on and on...

    But long answer short...

    SHOPIFY!

      I was leaning towards Shopify. The monthly price isn't too bad and it helps me sleep a little better at night! Thanks for the quick response.
