You can do a presentation where you just speak and show slides. Other option is outsource video production to an actor (Fiverr, Odesk, Elance)

It's possible, but you should test what type of videos converts better with your offer. Also there is big difference between video just with slides or with animation. It depends on your offer and it's not so hard to create video with you or with out you in picture, so just do that and you will see converts it or not. Outsource other type of videos, you don't want or can't to create. And test test test. That data is gold

Yes, it's possible; in fact, there are soooooo many ways you can make a video without having to be on camera.

Like others have said, you can presentation videos (powerpoint and camtasia), kinetic typography, photo slideshows with a voice over, whiteboard, Adobe After Effects video animation, you can get stock footage and edit it together, the list goes on and on.

I've been making videos for over 20 years, so PM me if you need any advice.

Just do a voice over if not comfortable with going on camera or outsource.

There used to be a great female video gig on Fiverr, she was worth 100x more than $5 but I don't know if she's still there nor do I have the link.

Most of my videos are done without a camera. But looks highly professional. I use screenflow. I have now systematized the process so that anybody can follow the system and create such videos. This way I am able to effectively use my team to create videos on my behalf without losing professionalism. My team is using camtasia and the videos, look as good as the ones I create using Screenflow.

I've created a video on how I create my videos.

        Hope it helps...

I also use Camtasia to do tutorials and it works perfectly. If you are reviewing a product then beign on front camera can gives you better conversion. Use fiverr with good female presenter.

Yes, you can definitely do this. However, one thing you must beware of:

PEOPLE WILL TRY TO STEAL YOUR VIDEO.

I've had several videos without anything but a screen capture (for the video) and audio and I had several people straight up download it and upload it on to their own channel. You do see people doing that for regular videos too, but I think it's easier to get away with if there's nothing but audio. In the end though, Youtube will protect your stuff if you report it being stolen by someone else.

I used to be so afraid of getting on camera and you know what...it turned out to be one of the best things for my business.

I used to worry about not looking comfortable enough, confident enough, professional enough, etc, etc. But as it turns out, me shooting videos in my living room and having all the quirky things about my personality, really helped to connect me to my audience. They too, are constantly judging themselves by their imperfections that they easily identified with me better than my competitors (who seemed more put together). I'm #1 in my niche today and I have to say getting over the fears of being on video was one of the best things I did for my business.

Get over it...and try it. You owe yourself at least that much.

Of course you can. People do it all the time and are very successful in doing so. People only care about what's in it for them. Not who's in it. As long as you provide the viewer with valuable content they could care less if they see a live person in the video or not.

    Nick,

Don't fret yourself as it is VERY possible.
    I know from experience. I don't appear
in any of my channel's videos, yet a handful
of them rank high in search results. They
also get me subscribers and comments
    at least every other day.

The bottom line will be how good (resourceful)
the content is, and how well the SEO of the
    video is.

You can also download a free trial of a software called "Camtasia" (I think the free trial is about a month) which is really really cool. Camtasia allows you to record whatever our doing online as well as your voice..this is useful if you dont want to show yourself on camera, or you could be showing people how to do stuff online as camtasia record your every move and your voice if you choice. Camtasia has some really cool features..I should know thats why I recommend it....best of luck my friend, hope u find what your looking for....petey

The absolute horror of this is that it appears you just want to crank out videos and thing that gets results. Slide shows, talking heads or moving text are all the same: horrible.

I generate hundreds of videos every month and get my clients to the first page on YouTube search results constantly. Not one is moving text, a slide show or a person just jabbering on and on and on about something. On rare occasion there is a person interviewed on camera.

If you are doing video for the sake of video, you are going the wrong direction. We produce the same high quality content you would see on TV. It gets the best results. That is what people are used to seeing.

Actually, there are all kinds of simple "slideshow"-type videos on YouTube that rank well, get tons of views, and drive traffic. They may not be the prettiest but I wouldn't call them horrible either.

TV-quality videos are great and can definitely be effective but not everyone has the money, resources, or equipment/software to do that. My clients and I have had success making simple vids with the following tools:

Animoto - Make & Share Beautiful Videos Online
Make Business Video | Animated Video Production | GoAnimate.com
One True Media | video creation that's simply powerful, easy and free
Stupeflix - Make video slideshows with photos, music

You should try doing whiteboard animations - a lot of people talk about using Sparkol, but there's another great tool which is really easy to use - Moovly. Will take you about an hour to get the hang of it.....

You can use it to record audio too, and export it straight out as a video, but I found the output levels on the audio to be a bit rough - so if you have something like Camtasia, you can import into that and edit from there.....

And if you've got a bit of a phobia about recording audio, definitely look at getting a pro voiceover - just make sure you produce a decent, well planned script, and get it checked for any errors - the VOA's will read it as it's written, so best to check.....and also make sure if you use Fiverr that you read any gig fineprint - e.g. number of words per gig, extra's and also any fineprint around where you can/cannot use it - i.e. do you get the commercial rights to it.

    Hi NS,

Presentation videos rock but getting on camera does amazing things for building trust around your internet marketing campaign. I would strongly suggest shooting videos of yourself presenting; stand out from the faceless, nameless marketing crowd by proving that you are real.

    All the best!

Others here have given you great info! Of course you can do videos without appearing on camera.

Prezi.com is a great service for making interesting presentations. I saw a screencast video that was really nothing more than a PowerPoint, but because of the animation via Prezi, I actually mistook it for an actual video instead of a PowerPoint.

However, be aware that if you're not appearing on camera, you'll have to work a little harder to keep their attention. It will vary by topic and audience, but this is generally accomplished by the copywriting (the actual script: HOW you say things) and good/interesting graphics. This usually means some animation (moving text/graphics).

It doesn't have to be complicated, but this IS video and generally speaking, you need to keep it visually interesting.

Get a basic, simple video editing software like Sony Movie Studio and learn the basics of it. Pay attention to it's animation and transition capabilities. Some simple, basic animations/transitions applied to text and graphics will go a long way towards making your video visually interesting. Unless you're specifically doing a PowerPoint webinar, you want your viewers to think "video" and not "PowerPoint' when they watch your videos.

      Hope that helps!

Slide show / Power point is great and also the video shared above I watched it, it is also done beautifully. You could use free animations sites as well. I think it defends on the niche that you need to be on camera, but I am convinced that the more you show yourself to your subscriber the more you will get their trust and once you build your credibility it will be easier to promote your product or service.

Yes it is very possible. Getting good views is actually not only about the content of the video but rather how you have optimized your video for the search engines and how you have marketed it.

That being said, you can make a good video without need for a camera. You can turn power point slides into video, you can record your voice, you can use animation sites like animoto etc.

Depends on the message you want to convey. For instance, if you want to demonstrate something on your computer screen, you may not need to be seen. Basically, you cannot do an interview video, but you can do videos on products or services. For example, if you are an automobile mechanic, focus on showing people how you repair a car. Customers need to see your hand in action, but not your face and I hope you have a good command voice.

As everone else had said of course you can do video without being in front of the camera but I would add to get the best results from this you have 2 options.

Either your traffic should know like and trust you before they see the video thus they will forgive your video for its imperfections whilst still taking a look at your recommendations

      or

You can go for creating videos with greater wow factor that get cold traffic to take your desired actions.

The style and content of video needs to be balanced with how you expect people to find these videos, forget make it and they will come
