1st Webinar not that great but not bad

So I have a fitness membership site with s built in crm system. Its pretty slick, and I am sure it will attract a good amout of people.

Well I ran a facebook ad campaign for a Webinar discussing the membership site. 60 people choose to join and said they would be at the webinar. I send out the gotowebinar confirmation link, it was also in the event. Less then 10 people registered and about 5 showed up.
1. Gotowebinar seems to be kinda hard for nontechnical people to download and use, I think join.me is muchh easier however it lacks features.
2. Is that normal for people to sign up for the webinar but not show up? Out of 60 confirmed 5 showed up.

Anyway, the best thing about a Facebook event is once they say they are going, I now can add them as friends or send them a message directly. So now I have warm leads...

The webinar did not turn out the way I expected but I still see it as a win. I will follow up and let you know if the leads turn out to become members.

    You'll improve as you progress obviously, but what you are describing is completely normal. Always expect your fair share of no-shows.

    I have done hundreds of gotowebinars over the years the first 3 bombed and I couldn't get everything to work. show up rate is horrible people just sign up so they are on the list hoping to get recording or just things come up, don't let that discourage you I have made thousands of sales from webinars it can be done, the key is to stick to higher priced items since you are not going to make a huge number of sales my average is probably 7 or so per webinar over the years so I like $497, to $997 specially since you also have to split with the other promoter or guru depending on what role you are playing in the webinar.

    It's very common to get 10% or lower of the people who actually register. It does depend on how loyal your fan base is, but with a "cold" relationship, your numbers aren't bad.

    I don't like gotowebinar at all. I agree- join.me is better. I use easy webinar plugin, which has been sooo much easier for me all around.

      Even after they come to a seminar and spend $797 buying a product I give them a bonus webnar they register 60 or 70% don't show up, at least for me it's always more don't show up even when they are hot and relationship is good, I think the problem might be the recording #1 (they expect it) and stuff comes up #2 and they forget and are not organized #3 I'm sure there are more reasons, but those are a few I can think of.

      I'm sure there might be a way to get most to show up but I haven't figured it out. I'll also say I do free and paid seminars, expensive ones 90+ % show up, free 75% don't show up, I have done 50 at least free ones majority always don't show up every single time, so for a free webinar it's actually not bad when you think of it.

      I had a friend who would do free seminars for a room of 100 he showed me the registration list 1200, I counted 70 in the room his show up rate was horrible but he didn't care he made good sales with who showed up and that is what he concentrated on.

    Thank you everyone, that really helped out. Yea I really feel that Webinars are where it is right now. I am going to shoot for more people this next one. The membership is pretty solid, and I know once people start learning about it, everyone will jump on board. So I am just going to take it 1 step at a time.

    Im looking to test out gotowebinar. If I choose the 100 max attendees option, will gotowebinar allow more than that number to register for the webinar?
