How To Find A mentor?

Hey Warrior's

I have spent the last couple of years experimenting with IM, I have a couple of sites that only seem to generate about $10 per month. I'm really serious about making a living from IM but I'm sick of all the time it's taking to go through the trail and error process. So I think a good mentor would be the way forward. Can anyone suggest a good mentor?. I'm not looking for someone that claims to be good but actually has very little experience.

I guess that most successful IM people would not be interested in spending their time teaching some random person how to make a decent income. If on the other hand there is somebody interested in working with me, I can offer a percentage in what I make, I'll make you cups of tea, I'll do your washing, What ever it takes!. I'm motivated! Just lacking in direction.

Thank Warriors!

Yes, the best mentors are those who are already having the success you desire. Go out and find them and hassle them until they agree to mentor you. But be prepared to pay money though, and good money at that. A good mentor is not going to think you are very serious about things if you are not prepared to back yourself with your own money.

Giving a mentor a percentage of earnings is kind of a slap in the face. Why should they risk all their time and effort on someone that could just as easily be lazy and do nothing and thus earn them no money. So by offering a deal like that you are putting ALL the risk on the back of the mentor and absolutely no risk on you. How tempting do you think a deal like that is to any mentor? I'll tell you... not very.

If you want to take the next step then get serious about things. A good mentor will cost you good money and that's because they are saving you a lot of money and time you would otherwise have to spend. They deserve the money you are paying them because they had to spend all the time and money getting to the position they are now in. If you don't have the money to pay a mentor then the answer is to go and earn some money until you do have enough to pay them.

Just trying to keep it real for you. I hope that helps.

I can't answer your question but wanted to give just a side note.

It sounds like you need a coach, not a mentor. Mentor will prep you mental skills (focus, motivation, competences, etc) whereas coach will give you practical steps on how you should proceed.

When you are choosing your coach (or mentor if you feel you need one) be very careful before parting with your money. Interview his/her past students, ask for testimonial and result proofs, etc. Let them earn your trust.

And what comes to your proposed pricing model (percentage of sales / profits), I don't think many coaches will agree to that. At least the contract would need to be pretty tight. What happens if coach spends 3 months with you and just when you are starting to see results, you decide to quit or focus on something else? Monthly fee would probably be better idea. That way you risk just a portion of your money and you can track your/coaches results.

Honestly, you can do it without a coach/mentor..unless you are involved in specialized tactics like PPV and the like.

You already have some sites that are making $10 per month. You just need to scale and refine what you are doing with the sites. I don't know what niches or monetization methods you are using, but I'll advise you to refine and scale up the method you have found to make you money.

Also, you need to be committed in IM. The starting process is the hardest..but the returns are sweet. Most of all, take action everyday towards your IM business.

    My two cents.

I agree with WillR, nobody wants to take the risk for you especially he does not know you. Your offer seems to indicate that you want help but that maybe you can not pay for.

You already have a few months experience and you earn some money online. There surely has adjustments you can do to increase your winnings. Why not ask for help on this forum. It's free. Just explain what you are doing by giving more specific examples as possible and others will be happy to assist you.

I believe that in a way you won't get yourself out of the trial and error system, with a coach/mentor or not. Even the thing itself of finding someone can easily get onto that route. It's really hard to get exactly what you need, exactly when you need it and have it perfect. As I see it it's all a process and you'll have to get through it one way or another.

I know I didn't answer your question and you need an answer to your problem but the way I see it is that your income won't go from $10 to much more by getting a mentor to point you out in the right directions. You need a direction, and you need to get started.

    Good luck!
