oDesk Question Need Help

I need about 5 articles edited from oDesk for my website. This will only cost me $2.50. However, Odesk will not let you post an ad less than $5. So I put an ad saying I need a good editor for articles. I put a fixed price at 30$.

I knew if this editor was good, I would be needing around 60 articles edited in the next week or two. So the 30$ is how much he will make eventually.

I found an editor and he agreed to my terms of 50 cents per edited article. I told him I would be giving him probably 60 more articles over the next week or two at the same amount per article. He agreed.

The problem is I only want and need him to edit 5 articles now. That is $2.50, I will pay him.

Before I can proceed oDesk wants me to put in my paypal details. I am afraid that if I enter the paypal details I will be billed or binded to the $30 job ad.

How can I pay this editor only $2.50 and not $30 or the minimum fixed job fee of $5?

The editor will bill you through odesk and you will pay through odesk

Thank you sir for fast reply

So I am not binded to the job ad price of $30 if I enter in my paypal details?

Also, what your saying is once the editor does his job. He will bill, me a set fee that he can choose? So I can ask him to only bill for 5 articles ($2.50) up front?

Also, do I recieve a pdf of the articles before I pay or do I pay the proofreader first?

First you need to have "payment verified account", that means enrolling your credit card.

No you will not be binded because it will be your discretion when to pay.So you check first the article then you pay.

You will have to manually input the $2.50 but your total bill would be $2.50 + 10% of $2.50.

You can make a partial payment at any time, it's very flexible. You are never locked into anything regarding the payment amount or when it has to be paid (I suppose they would step in at some point if you never paid and work was done, just for sake of argument).

You are never charged for any job you don't hire for. They only do that for security purposes. And like djtrillian said you can always do a 50-50 payment. Half before and half after finishing the job. Do realize odesk takes a cut. They have a fee they include on top of what you pay.
