Do you have any software to help you in creating your graphics? If not then have a look around at what design tools could help you. I use Illustrator/Photoshop for all of my design and there are lots of templates around that you could get and have a play with editing.

If you are not going the Adobe route then you could get stand alone tools that are specially designed for making it easy to create banners/e book covers for people who don't know how to use photoshop ect. That would be your fastest way to start selling something. You can always learn to use Photoshop once you are seeing some profits coming in.

  • Get your hands on Adobe Photoshop (some people buy it and some download the hacked versions on the internet). Then, download free Photoshop graphic files in PSD format from the internet and start messing with them.

If you join the War Room, you can download the numerous graphics packages that Warriors have made available. They are good designs and very good examples to learn from.

Look for videos that introduce the essential tools used in Photoshop. Look for videos that show you how to create a banner and a header for a website. Start looking at examples of web banners, logos, and eBook covers. Look for video tutorials of people creating those things.

What you need to learn in order to design banners, logos, headers is Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator (Photoshop tends to be a little more newbie friendly I would say and Illustrator for logos)... Learn how to use Photoshop properly and do your research on the design styles and concepts that go into designing today's banners, logos, etc. You will be able to use both skills described above to provide a web graphics service.

Once you've done that, Practice makes perfect. The more you design, the better you will get at it.

As many have stated, it starts with the software. As far as learning that software? Youtube and practice.

    Are you artistic?

EDIT: The order alvinhy listed them is also the order for level of creativity needed, with good logo designers also being artists or having a lot of creativity. My only real advice is to know there is a ceiling in graphic design if you lack that artistic/creativity thing, and the software (real graphic design program suites) isn't cheap.

If you are someone that has creativity, don't stop with Photoshop and Illustrator - video is a market that is going to be unavoidable for IMers in the near future and high quality videos at reasonable prices are a ripe market for an entrepreneur to delve into. The difficulty, the skill, that needs to be developed is combining graphic design with animation/video.

Best thing you can do is play around with some free software and see how it goes. I also suggest grabbing a sheet of paper and a good 'ol pencil to sketch out some mock logos. In fact, start there. Schedule in some daily time to do some drawing, even if you suck at drawing.

You need Creative Juice to be a designer. Only way to develop it is to try to tap into it and use it, practice it, and refine it.

Maybe you are an artist and know all of this. You can bang out ebook covers pretty easy, web design is the next artistic step up, and logos are going to tap into your creativity more. If you are creative and become proficient in the software, there is money to be made ...
