How To Syndicate (copy) A News Post W/O Getting Hit For Duplicate Content

I am starting a new blog and I will of course add my own unique content but for this niche there is always news happening around it.

I want to be able to post articles from major news sources on my blog but don't want to get hit for duplicate content.

How should I phrase or say at the beginning or end of the post so that Google knows who the original author is since it will be the same info from the original site it came from?

People, please, understand what every pro tells you. There`s no such thing as a duplicate content penalty. You can`t get hit. The duplicate content just won`t show in the search engines. It will only show up once, from the original website, or the website with the most authority. In the event that you do want the article to be shown in the search engines, mix duplicate and original contents throughout it.

Nothing could be further from the truth.

I'm not advocating duplicate content, I'm just saying duplicate content is everywhere. Don't believe me?

Google this in quotes: "What a young wife ought to know"

It's a 100 year old advice column by Emma Frances Angell Drake.

It shows in the Google search results nearly 31,000 times. So to say that "duplicate content just won't show in the search engines" is wrong.

By the way, read the article, it is a hoot!

Duplicate content happens when your website has more then one of the exact same page/content. Not when you syndicate other websites content.

Great advice mrgoe, everyone just gets easily confused about these things nowadays and I have personally experienced it when I asked blog owners whether if they accept guest posting or not...

For Google it doesn't matter at all how you phrase your source info.

Google will rank content it finds multiple times according to site authority.

By the way, posting articles from major news sources could be a copyright violation. Make sure to check the licensing rights of those news sources.
