    Hi Frank,

If you know what 'Marketing' is, then it will not be difficult to guess the answers to your questions

    In a nutshell:

    1. Local marketing - you promote products/services to customers located within the region these products are produced or available. For example, you live in Germany . You can sell products made in Berlin to people living in Berlin etc..

For marketing purposes it is important to know who will buy the product, where they are located and how far they will travel to obtain the product.

    2. Mobile marketing - you can promote your stuff through any mobile device or network. It includes text messaging / sms. It is also mobile advertising.

    3. Network marketing - this type of marketing includes programs provided by big companies/ corporations that offer a low upfront investment and the opportunity to sell a product line directly to your friends, family members and other people. Most network marketing programs also ask participants to recruit other sales representatives.

    4. SEO - it stands for Search Engine Optimization. It's all about ranking websites in Google search results.

    5. Facebook (Twitter/YouTube,Pinterest etc..) - it's all about communication and promotion within social communities. You can create pages, videos, boards related to your niche/products/hobbies and start interacting with others who might be also interested in the same stuff. After you gain authority status and get trust, you can start promoting and selling.

Of course, it's a quick explanation. You need some time to read this forum and search Google for more information.

Hope it will help you get started!

Igman pretty much got it. To add a bit about SEO, I would just say that it also has to do with overall optimization of content, urls, title tags, descriptions, and more. The more a site concentrates on SEO, the more it's going to have what search engines like (quality and relevant content, etc.), and therefore the more it will rank.
