    Spread your answers across all topics, citing well known authority sites as the source where necessary.

    Give proper answers to the questions.
    If you don't know look it up, don't guess

    Always be polite, don't make fun of anyone
    Always report spam, and troll posts (there are children and some very desperate people on this site)

    Drop one of your links every 10 answers (to a proper website, nothing else.)

    Don't drop you own links every time you log-in

    Treat YA like a community site.

    Used properly YA can bring you traffic for years.

    I'm gonna make you work for it, but I recently saw a great article on here somewheres that explained exactly what to do to leverage yahoo answers - I just can't remember what it's called.

    Search for 'yahoo answers' etc and you should find it. It had a ridiculous number of 'thankyou' replies

    You need to follow all the guidelines from Yahoo. They update it lately. I also got my first conversion from Yahoo answer. Keep on going.

    Tim3 said it well, don't post links in every answer. Spread out and focus on giving genuine help, not getting traffic

    If this is working for you then you know the trick
    If you are getting banned then this means you need to be more wise and careful
    Just try to remain under the radar, like one warrior said drop link in 1/10 answers this looks like a wise plan

    Ya I made more than 200 already in two networks within a month and I can see that it works. I think it may work in the long run if I post links randomly (1:10) as Tim3 and xpesos laid out and the links to articles or wikipedia and redirect those links after some months.
