As imran said, your best bet at securing a client would be either cold call or pay a visit to your local businesses and make your pitch.

The simplest way to start is to talk to the business owners you already know, the business owners where you're spending your money and the business owners your friends know.

If you have ANY internet marketing skill of any kind you can usually use a bit of imagination and use that skill to create extra sales and profits for a brick and mortar business.

So the actually skill you use is not so crucial...actually helping the businesses you work with make real sales and profits IS crucial.

It is easier to start by talking to business owners you know. The key skill is actually your ability to talk to business owners and get them excited about hiring you to help them.

That's not too difficult once you've done it a few times...but you do have to commit to developing your skills.

Just ask questions about their business, how they make their profits, where most of their turnover is coming from, which products or services bring them the highest net profit, what they want from their business etc etc and listen.

Then suggest customized solutions based around what they've told you and run with the idea that gets them excited.

You can charge a business anywhere from $500 to $5,000+ to implement an internet marketing solution for them so the money can be very good.

    Kindest regards,

Yep as the majority have already said, just get out and talk to biz owners!

    First of all though,

Make sure you are qualified to offer SEO to paying customers and put together a package and average pricing of what you will charge, obviously this can chaneg job to job. But having an understanding of what you are going to offer and the price you intend to offer it at will make the selling part and pitch of your services to local business owners easier.

Going in blind can be a route to giving up if you get no luck first time around.

I think it's difficult for offline companies to buy your services right away so you have to be well-prepared for that. You should consider your SEO business as a real business and be serious and official about it.

Have your own name card, prepare brochures and presentations to show the potential customer what your service's features are and how they can benefit from your service. Samples of your work and proof that SEO will work for their business as well.

It's real business, so you need to have your business plan ready first before calling anyone.

This is quite common for the people who become successful selling their internet marketing services to local businesses.

Most people on a forum like the Warrior Forum seriously underestimate how valuable their internet knowledge and skills really are to a brick and mortar business.

You can help these businesses make more sales and profits with nearly any internet marketing skill...you just need to use a little imagination.

The guys who go from zero to making money the fastest are usually those who just go talk to business owners...more or less immediately.

That's the most important skill you need to develop to make money in this business.

Yes the other stuff will help but it's not necessary to get hired.

      Kindest regards,
      Andrew Cavanagh

P.S. I still don't have a business card. I get THEIR card if I'm interested in them as a client or source of referrals.
