Hey there I realize this topic may not be interesting to all. But I hate reading ebooks on screen. I also find them super expenstive to print with my ink jet. I was wondering if anyone knew of a printing place that prints out bulk black and white stuff at cheap prices. Is there such a thing? I just want the ebooks to be in my possession instead of on-screen. thanks |

There are all kinds of POD printers out there that can knock off quantities as small as 10-20 copies of a perfect-bound book. But what I think you want is just one copy of each of the books. If you go to a Kinko's, OfficeMax, SpeedyPrint or someplace like that--they could do it in minutes--but my guess is that they won't print and bind copies of any publication for you if the book has a copyright with someone else's name on it. They are very, very careful about doing that--as they should be. My guess is that, costly as it may be, your best bet is going to be to print them out at home, three hole punch them, and put them into a binder. |

Contact one of the smaller newspapers in your area . Most can print them out for you a lot cheaper than you can do it yourself .

Kinkos is too spendy And most printing places I google are for things such as post-cards, biz cards, etc. Maybe printing at home isn't so bad, as long as I choose the "Draft" quality to save ink |

It would probably be worthwhile for you to buy an $89 laser printer solely for this job.

My experience: purchase a laser printer and print these out yourself. Nothing beats this approach inasfar as costs go. Eg. with a $75 BW laser printer that gives you say 1500 pages, your cost is about 5cents/page. With a color laser print it works out to about 18cents/page a print (my current run costs). Then you can buy a new toner cartridge/s that will let you print another several thousand pages. Decide after that if you wish to continue buying toner cartridges after the first/second changeover, when these printers require a fuser/drum unit change after that (depends on models). I junk mine after these or give them away and buy new ones. This is what I've been recommending to my clients for several years now. I'm thru my 3rd BW laser printer and my 2nd color laser printer now. Sure beats the running cost of ink jets anytime. The other big advantage is you've got the luxury of print on demand as and when you like. |

I think Astaga has the answer. I buy 3-hole, drilled (pre-punched) paper and print on a laser printer. It's quick and cheap. I don't know what country you are in, but here in the States Sam's Club sells binders really cheap too. :-Don |

If you do manage to get the laser printer it's easy to do the bulk printing as follows.. Open your printers folder Double-click on your printer icon Then drag all the eBooks for printing into the printer window. I do this for converting many word documents to PDF ![]() Sean |

This is EXACTLY why I got a Kindle. In the long run, I save on printing costs. Plus, I get to carry tons of ebooks in the process.

| Yes, but it's not a normal screen. It's very difficult to explain until you've held one in your hands. It's looks like digital ink. Just made this post because I was in the same position. I dislike reading on my monitor and laptop, dislike printing 70 page books that end up being crappy and really dislike the high cost of wasting inkjet ink and paper. I took a shot at the Kindle and I love it. Very happy. |

There are dsicount suppliers you can buy printer ink really cheap online. I got 80.00 of ink for less than 20.00 using one of the discount suppliers you can find online. Makes printing economical and cheaper than having stores do it for you. If you do not have a good printer though I suggest looking at getting one. I was able to pick up a HP Office Jet Pro L7780 for less than 250.00 which is a great discount for this particular printer and the printer quality is as close to Lazer as you can get without actually having a lazer printer. Comparing a color lazer photo print on regular letter sized paper to this printer I have you couldn't really tell a difference until you look up close but even then the difference wasn't that big. But yeah, look around online for good discount priced ink saves a lot compared to paying retail at a store. - Terry |

Believe it or not I got over 400 pages printed at Staples for about $32. Don't do the color either. That will cut it in half. Go here Staples.com Copy & Print — Home Page. You can also save an additional 25% which helped me bigtime and I got the 3 hole punch. I filled up at big 4" binder plus two 2 inch binders. I hope this helps! I looked into online places but they wanted minimum numbers (not copies) and the shipping would have been a killer.

Your not the only one, I have a hard time reading ebooks on the pc, least not for an extended period. I agree, many of the big box office places are high. I use a local print shop, 5 cents a page. It's also faster than sitting by your printer if your printing a few of them or long ones.

You can also print the PDFs with two pages per sheet (as long as you can still read the text. Depends on how the author formatted.)
