Females Reading Male Blogs?

With the current niche I am working on, I need to be able to appeal to both men and women equally and in some cases be even more appealing to women than men. Unfortunately, I think this is even more difficult because I am in an adult niche.

In your opinion, do you need to be female to have authority when targeting a female audience? Do you feel you can remain gender neutral as a blog's author?

    I want to say you should remain gender neutral but in marketing appealing to a target audience, whether it be gender based or niche based yields better results.

    You should discuss your topics with women and see what they would like to see come out of your blog post. One women may differ in perspective from another women but you will find some common ground amongst them and that is what you should focus on.
