Sometimes it is very hard to turn your hobby into a business. You better to know what most of the other peoples' hobbies. From there, you'll know there is a market demand. It is difficult to let other people to follow your hobby so that you can sell them a product, but it will be easier to change yourself to suit into their hobbies and introduce your products to them. | |

That's some good stuff, but I also second E.T's post about "other" people's hobby. I suggest researching what is selling or what is being searched for in a niche market and find something you feel you can break into along the lines of having a site that will have 1st page results at the search engines with little competition. Sell what people are looking for. Find a solution to their problem and sell it to them. LastWarrior |

Doesn't really matter guys where the ideas come from - it really doesn't! I've developed ideas from reading forums and turned them into successful products. I've developed a product based on a personal life experience and it is selling like crazy on Clickbank right now. I've developed products based on a pattern of Yahoo Answers...again it is moving very well. My first product was a hit right out of the gate back in 2000 after reading two or three of the top products in the field and finding a glaring GAP in the information. I've coached others who have taken their hobby and turned it into a 6 and even 7-figure business. All of that said, every one of these ideas I have put through the same rigorous tests - competition, keyword research, offline (books, magazines), "test" websites, test affiliate products and finally to successful product. When I haven't followed this process, the products missed the mark, and yes, I've had my share of those too... When it comes to idea generation - brainstorming can be used along with lots of other idea finding techniques. Then you enter a phase of commercial testing and even what I call a "beta test" phase were you test a site, blog, sales funnel and related products to see how they sell before you dive into product development.
