On Site Opt-In Techniques

Currently I have a sidebar widget opt in box, offering a free eBook, well designed. I also have the same opt in box as a pop up after 15 seconds. Next thing I'm doing is building a squeeze page and driving traffic to it.

Let's hear your on site techniques to build a list, and share some ideas.

If you provide great content in a blog, make sure you put the opt-in form again at the end of each post. People are more willing to opt-in after they see that they like what you have to say.

Another good idea is the make the opt-in "special" in some way. In other words, call it a VIP subscription, and have a whole link in the navigation for it. This can get more eyes on it.

Cool will try and make it special. I'd love to put an opt in at the end of my posts, but I have affiliate links at the bottom that are doing well I Dont want to disrupt them

Yah, you have to be careful of overselling. Keep white space and don't overcrowd things. That actually usually gives a sense of more authority.
