From what I've read, you might want to be leery of guest blog "networks". If you're getting accepted to a site that is taking submissions from anyone, you can probably expect to be white noise/irrelevant.

You'll still get a link I guess; but I'd leave the value of said link to someone who knows better.

While you spend time reading people's signatures on a forum someone else is working to make the money you could have made.

    • I'd skip any lists or networks.

Just go find a site that you like that is in your niche. Then find the owner/webmaster's email address and shoot him a message. Tell him that you like the site and you're interested in writing a quality guest post on XXX topic. Some people will ignore you, some will say no, but a surprising number of them will likely say yes.

Guest posts are great for the site owner because they get free content, and it doesn't really cost them anything.

Ditto on the votes for My Blog Guest and Blogger LinkUp. Those are two good resources that are completely free

Also, take a look around the sites you visit on a regular basis. (After all, I'm assuming you read SOMETHING to keep up with the developments in and around your niche.) If there are a few sites that you consider to be authorities, look for a "write for us" page, or simply contact them and offer to write a guest post for them.

What's your niche? If you are into "Getting SIx Pack" niche then there's no point of having guest posting backlinks from an internet marketing blog, no matter how popular it is.

Getting quality traffic should be your main objective and that's the reason you should only use relevant blogs to make your posts.

At the very beginning it is really important to draft an email which is gonna help you to approach the owners of different blog sites. And you should take that mail writing job very seriously because you are going to ask permission from some big shot guys who have been into the business for quite a long time and they are getting same type of mails on a daily basis. SO what's new about you?

Ask some primary questions to yourself before writing that letter-

Why they should consider you to write your post there?

What's the new idea you are going to put on the table?

What's the unique feature your posts will have?

Whether it is highly informal or controversial, it should be powerful enough to attract a lot of readers. Your posts should have the personality that will make your posts popular among the readers.

Once you are done with writing that mail, it's time to start sending it to the webmasters and you will definitely see a better approval rate...

Thanks, and what do you mean by sending to webmasters? The email itself or the post?

It's your Email I am talking about. Once you get a green signal from the other end then you should proceed with the post. I had a bad experience-- a guy took my article and posted it with with his own signature!

sorry to hear about that. but that happens with me too. one guy @ myblogguest did the same to me. The worst part of the myblogguest is; blog owner replys very late. also processing takes too much of time.

so you should try to contact individual blog owners, those accepting guest posts. here is Guest post sites list you should working on...

best of lck, and happy guest posting...

Try googling "Guest post by" or "Guest article by", "Write for us", etc. You will get results that are blogs that have already accepted a guest post by someone else, so you know they're open to the idea.

  • You have to give some to get some. When asking for the opportunity to guest post, you also have to offer them the same opportunity. That way you're both getting something, regardless of what niche you're in =)
