Gmail and using Get Response or Aweber

I have seen a number of debates about emails going to the users of gmail spam folder.

An observation when signing up just now for the affiliate programs of both Get Response and Aweber, is that emails received from GetResponse ended up in my spam folder on gmail, whereas those from Aweber did not.

Anyone who is on the fence as to which auto-responder to use, may well want to try this out for themselves, but to me it looks like Aweber have the edge and will have a greater success rate in delivering your emails.

If you really want to get a better idea you should create a mailbox with hotmail. Inboxing to hotmail is much more difficult than gmail because Microsoft does a lot of screening.

When I subscribe to lists that use getresponse using my hotmail id almost 90% of the mails land in the spam folder. Whereas aweber is not that bad. Of course, even aweber mails land in spam folder but only a small percentage.

For me Aweber works better than Get Response. I tried both and the first one, even though sometimes gets stuck in spam filters, usually makes it to the inbox.

Here's what I do to make sure my mails hit the inbox:

I post a small note on my email capture box asking the customer to add me [sales@myemail.com] to his email list so important updates regarding his purchase don't end up in the spam folder.

This twist has helped my get better results.

    Hope this helps.

The most overlooked aspect of deliverability is the content. Check out this Webinar - Better Open Rates by Bond Halbert. Bond gives some platform agnostic tips that will make a huge difference.
