Advice on hiring a VA

I'm looking to hire a VA, but am not sure where to start.

I've been browsing around on onlinejobs.ph and some of the people seem very promising.

I'm basically just looking for someone who can help me send out emails, respond to clients, etc. so that I have more time for writing.

What I'd like to know is - how does payment typically work? PayPal? Say I see someone I like and want to hire them. They want $300/mth, for example. Would I begin paying them immediately when I hire them? If so, what is standard?

Also, are there any legalities I might face?

Nice tips on there and agree with them. One thing anyone should be aware of is that your hires may work more than 1 (full time) job depending on pay. Now I don't have an issue with this if they can do the work and hours as per my outline but it can course issues.

Thanks! Not sure what you mean here on the caution part, though, if you can add more details or PM (hadn't bookmarked the thread.)

Here in the Philippines, we get our salary every 15th and at the end of the month. If it's a monthly thing. And it is expected that we should work first then get our wages on the 15th or end of the month. No immediate payment.

If it's an online work, they use paypal. Seom use EON account : EON Main Page.

Also it's said to say this but we aren't big on legalities here.

Whatever you do, you'll want to work with a few for at least a couple weeks and evaluate how things are going. Make them aware that they can ask any questions if they're confused. Unfortunately, some will still just stop responding probably because they don't like being direct about a problem. But you have to be ready for that.

**I don't always make it back to check on threads, so if you'd like me to elaborate feel free to PM me, I try to make sure to check my inbox regularly and am happy to help..

I wouldn't have pulled a $9k week w/Teespring etc without the help of others, so it's time to pay it forward.
I can make a little room in my life for that. ;)
