I am getting complaints from my Aweber subscribers that they are getting trashy dating site emails from me. That is totally different from my niche and definitely not on my follow up list emails.

Has this occurred to anyone else? I know of course that my email address can be hoaxed but how would they get the address of a subscriber that only signed up a couple days ago?

Thanks for any suggestions.

I received a spam email from them today as well. Not attributed to you, however.

I'm pretty sure it's not aWeber. Their reputation would be crushed if they resorted to this.

Address books and email subscriber lists are hacked quite regularly.

In addition, they could be scraping your site or blog (if you have one) for email addresses of folks that you regularly do business with.

Not coming off the blog, have checked the address.

The subscribe notices get pulled from a bluehost email into Gmail. Could they be stealing it from there somehow?

The only Aweber spam I have been getting is from people who import my email address. And yes, I know I didn't opt-in. I look at the subscribe date Aweber lists when I unsubscribe and it's always the day I get the email or the day before.
