Help with email swipes

Good day all, This is my first post here so please be kind to my newb question:confused:

So, my question is with regards to sending out email swipes. I am abit confused as to why product vendors ask me to send out email swipes to visitors I get to opt in to a landing page I create? If a visitor opts in to my page and it automatically redirects them to that particular vendors site which has its own opt in will I not be doubling up on the same emails?

Alot of vendors that don't give me the option to deep link past their opt in page advice me to send out the swipes so I am abit lost as to how to use the email swipes. My assumption is that they assume I have already done list building (which I haven't for that particular niche) and thus will be sending out emails to people that are already my subscribers?

I think you are right. They are probably wanting you to promote the product to your existing list by sending them email swipes. Is this what you were asking? Not sure if I answered your question.

yes I think they are assuming you already have a list. You might want to start building up your own list perhaps with a free offer such as freeware related to your niche. Then send out the swipes along with your regular content.

Thanks for the replies. Just on the same issue though, I understand sending out a sequence of emails to a person that has opted in on my landing page and then clicks on my affiliate link in one of my emails which will take him directly to a vendors sales page. I'm fine with sending out such email swipes.

However, where I get abit lost is if a vendor doesn't allow me to link to their sales page directly and wants me to send visitors to their opt in page first. So the visitor opts into my landing page opt in list and gets my autoresponder emails. The visitor then clicks on my affiliate link and goes to the vendors opt in page and has to opt in a second time and thus will be getting 2 sets of emails with duplicate content. I'm talking in particular about many clickbank products where I send out swipes and the statistics provided by clickbank don't let me see which of my visitors have opted into a vendors page as well. I guess Im abit worried about spamming people that have opted into my list and then start receiving the same emails from the vendor.

Sorry if I appear a bit stupid on this one, but if you are using your own squeeze page then surely that means you can control where your subscribers go after opting in, I promote many clickbank products and have never come across the issue where a vendor does not want me to redirect to their sales page. In my experience as long as they end up on the sales page they don't really care how they got there.

Hope I havn't misunderstood the question

I'd like to simplify the question here which is: why the merchant put optin email on their sales page where we are as affiliate should take care of the process. What chefmist asked is if customer has double in followup email i.e from us as affiliate and later from vendor/merchant....another issue is do we still get commision when sales closed by merchant?
moreover why merchant put opt in on their salespage is another issue where I read on one of the CB superaffiliate he called this as a bad product to promote..please share your thought

It sounds like you could easily lose subscribers. I would suggest, it possible, to promote other products where this would not be an issue. Simplify and keep your subscribers to yourself to build the relationship with you.

when you send the emails yourself, you benefit from the credibility and reputation you build up with your list. So it's a little better than any emails coming from the vendor or affiliate partner

The question that occurs to me is why would you be sending your new subs as free traffic to someone else's squeeze page?

Is there an advantage for you? This is a business after all.

Seems like using their swipes and sending them your subs would increase the likelihood that they would unsub from one list or another. Most likely yours.
