373 Hops And No Sales!

I have been trying to bum market for sometime know. I just used the analytics on clickbank for the first time, and to my surprise I have 373 hops and no sales. This clearly is not normal I hope. I really need some help here. I do not know too much about link theft. That can't be it could it? Should I open a new account and change my links to test it? I've had the account for sometime now. If the account is dormant for awhile does that matter. I would appreciate any help with this. Cause I need some money, hope I'm not getting ripped off. 373 hops and no sales sounds really fishy to me, even with a really bad conversion.

It depends on so many things, but you can be almost certain you're not being ripped off - the idea of being ripped off is a horror story made up by newbies. In reality you can only be "ripped off" of very occasional sales when a fellow cb affiliate simply replaces your link to theirs when they buy it for themselves. And to be honest, I don't consider that ripping off - nothing to be concerned about at the very least.

If it helps for some perspective, I've had campaigns that had no sales with thousands of hops, and I'm talking very targeted ppc traffic that I paid per click for. And no I wasn't ripped off - in that particular case the product sucked.

If you track your traffic sources see where those hops come from, that ought to give you idea. If you're not tracking, start doing it and keep working at it. My best guess is the traffic isn't really the best "buy" traffic that you're getting.

Not that abnormal mate...Right now as we speak ive just started a new campaign that has yet to have a sale, and received 340 hops. This is not ideal i know, but you must also concider the fact that your traffic may return to buy your product later...
Sometimes I start a campaign and it takes a few weeks before it really picks up momentum.

Ideally i look for a sale in every 100 hops (1% conversion) - This just about rings true for highly targeted PPC traffic - realistically though I get a sale every 250 hops or so when using bum marketing...you need to test multiple products. Chances are VERY slim that your sales are being stolen...especially concidering clickbank is registering the hops..

I wouldn't worry just yet. Like the other poster said, sometimes it takes a while for things to get going and people don't always buy right away. Try to target long-tail keywords that are very specific and you should get better traffic - if you are not already doing this.

    Cheers.
