I think most niches are ok with e-mail marketing, and you can find the most profitable ones, and you love too.

Niches in which you can connect with the reader's emotions are usually best. If you're creative, you can do this with almost any niche.

Example: MMO - connect with the reader's heartache of hating their job/not having enough money/not being financially free
Example: weight loss - connect with the reader's desire to not feel insecure or like anything they try is a waste of time.

I think the best market would be something like internet marketing, weight loss where the problem you are solving continues for years ad where there is new products coming out all the time.

Markets or niches like greasy hair, yeast infection etc. Once you solve the problem once, thats it.

In IM for example there is always something to learn: Facebook marketing, List building etc. So you can continue market to the people via email for years.

There are no best niches for email marketing. Anything can be sold with email.

For PS3 repair, one thing you could do is start a gaming/technology newsletter which people will sign up for and you then send them offers related to gaming.

Thing is with PS3 repair, once you fix a PS3, that's a done. So you would have to combine your service with accessories for the PS3 that way you will be able to get repeat customers to make more $$$$

Email marketing is no longer a stand-alone marketing method. Especially now with emerging technologies being integrated into many marketing channels, a fundamental concept often over-looked is encapsulated into a recent new strategic planning marketing model - MEAT (major event anticipation triage).

It gives marketers a competitive advantage by coupling products and services with recurring events such as holidays, historical anniversaries, seasonal, milestones, etc. For example, the 2014 Olympics is expected to be a huge marketing watershed for those in relevant niches, and (assuming your customer list is in place) it still is not too late to be planning for the double whammy of the extended Christmas shopping season and New Year celebration hoopla.

In addition, there are hundreds of historically significant anniversaries along with relevant products and associated souvenirs that will be hot this coming new year. These type of promotions are especially effective through integrating email campaigns with social media, mobile technology, and offline marketing channels.
