Organic search results through SEO only?

I am in the process of putting together a wordpress blog style site about survival prepping, with all articles written by me and not necessarily keyword specific, more about information and developing a following before I get serious about monetizing it.

I am interested in primarily organic search results and I think I have good content, but my SEO skills are next to nothing, is there a preferred wordpress plug in for SEO ? Are there recommended services for SEO on a wordpress site?

I don't have a problem paying for work, just don't want to through away money on SEO as it seems that literally everyone except me is an expert in SEO if you believe all of the advertisements.

    Don't believe everything you read.

    SEO is a skill and 'most' SEO'ers do not have it.

    Using SEO blasting tools and automating on-page factors without understanding of the audience will waste your money.

    Pay someone who knows what they're doing to advise you.

    If you want organic search traffic, you NEED to have them keyword specific.

    All in One SEO Pack. However, there is no "plugin" that will do SEO for your website, LOL. If there was, thousands of people would be out of business.

    SEO plugins are just guidelines, really.
