A Few Questions - I'm starting to get somewhere!!

Hi all,

Before I begin, I'm sorry for such a long post but I really need to give as much information is I can.

So I'll start with an intro, as people around here never give enough info, in the hopes that you can all help me out!

I've been making sites for sometime now, and they all failed to generate income. Even one site, I built to 1000 visitors a day but earned pretty much nothing. I was focusing on Adsense and trying to sell ad's, but no joy.

So I finally stopped thinking "big" and decided this time I'ma focus on something REALLY small, so I picked a niche and stuck to it. To my Amazement, last month I earned $15 from Amazon. It's not much but to me its a kick up the backside to carry on trying !!

Then, I check today and im already at $30 THIS MONTH, with some more items to ship.

MY QUESTION IS:

I built the site using WpZonBuilder, so the posts are just brought through from Amazon information. The post itself within WordPress is just, <amazon-item> on all posts.

The site is getting barely 10 Visitors a day, but still so much comission!!

Question one:

If I were to go through all of my <amazon-item> posts, and re-write them by hand. Do you think that it will help my SERP's, in the hope to gain more traffic and then ofcourse more revenue?

Question two:

Have I already set myself up to fail by using this plugin, and does Google already see me as a rubbish site, or can it be fixed?

Thanks so much in advanced!! It's so nice to see some of my efforts paying off, but this site is the one I put least effort into, so I'm hoping with more effort I might be able to get somewhere?

It would definitely help. If you don't add substantial content to your site that's not on Amazon.com, you will eventually be de-indexed. Google needs a reason to send traffic to you instead of directly to Amazon.

Don't depend on Google completely, and consider other advertising ways, such as social media sites.

If you are a potential customer and visit your site, will you be interested in buying something?

From a customer's viewpoint and don't from your own, study what customers want, then present your offers.

    Thanks for your responses.
So basically I'm happy with the site, but I want to be able to expand on my traffic.

I'm normally pretty good at drawing Traffic from Google, so I guess re-writing my posts will be the best place to start.

Then, hopefully some of the earnings will be used to advertise more, as I'm on a little bit of a tight budget right now.

So you all agree I should re-write my posts ASAP?

If it's making money, let it make money. Sometimes people think too much about how complicated it must have to be. When you find something that works, stick with it but scale.

Scaling for this wouldn't necessarily mean messing with those posts, but maybe it would mean creating more substantial content of your own in other posts/pages.

First, you need to stop worrying about what Google thinks of your website. It doesn't matter if Google likes your website or not, they aren't going to be clicking your links and earning you any money.

Second, adding more content to your website is generally going to help you. Think about all the information you want on a product before you purchase it. Give that information to your readers, so they can make an informed buying decision.

Third, with so little people visiting your website, it sounds like you aren't advertising at all. Put yourself out there. You have to tell people about your website, and give them very easy ways to share your website with other people. So share your website on Social Media sites, and put Social Media buttons on your site.

The big thing to remember is...
It doesn't matter if Search Engines like your website. What matters is that your visitors like your website, and that you share your website with actual people.

When everyone is saying "don't think about Google".

What I mean is that I'm getting like 7 visitors a day, but its earning me 70$ a month. If I were to double/triple my search Traffic, I could potentially then double/triple my earnings?

Surely getting more than 7 visitors from Google is EASY PEASY?

I was just wanting some advice whether re-writing all my products manually, would potentially increase my Traffic, or should I start writing some blog posts about clothes etc?

Idk how, but it must be pretty easy to do it, I just would like a bit of guidance.

      Yes.

Either write it yourself or hire someone.

And don't expect the math to square up perfectly, but certainly you could get more traffic and keep converting well with quality content.

Write the Product pages manually, or write blog posts?

This is how I hear your question above. "Surely getting more than seven visitors by making a group of computer programs happy is Easy Peasy?"

You want more people to visit your website?

The answer is in the question. If you want more People, you need to go where People are. Instead of trying to make computer programs (Search engines) happy, go directly to the people that are interested in what you have to offer, and share your website with them!

I can get more than 7+ visitors a day posting a few times on Twitter. There are people using Twitter, and Google has no control. The same could be said for a dozen other social networks. Because that's where the People are.
