Should I Mobilize My Landing Pages?

Another landing page question :-)

Should I/we be serving up mobile ready/responsive landing pages? A tremendous amount of traffic is mobile and tablet now, so it seems like it would be important to have mobile ready pages.

Most of our traffic will be coming from facebook initially, then adwords, some radio.

Just wonder what everyone's thoughts are and what tips you have for conversion based mobile design.

Thanks!

This really isn't a landing page question as your title asks.

Either your site is mobile ready or it's not. To me, it doesn't make sense to have your landing pages optimized for mobile and the rest of your site not optimized in a similar manner.

Understand that mobile phone screens and tablet screens show displayed information differently. How you choose to optimize will have an impact on each device. I would really take a close look at exactly what you're trying to accomplish in advance. There are sites that will show you how any web page looks on the various devices. (Use the search function and you'll find several)

    Good luck to you,

I'd suggest putting up Google analytics to at least see the % of mobile visitors.

You could also make a custom mobile landing page, or just make everything responsive. A lot of people on the forum offer services for both.

    I think it's a no-brainer.

Today, all sites should be mobile-ready. I just converted a whole bunch of my WP sites using responsive themes. At some of my sites I see 70%+ of mobile traffic.

Responsive or mobile design is an absolute must these days, and this is going to increase. Google's preferred method is responsive design - and this takes into account desktop, tablets and mobile.

If you're looking at serving up a separate mobile version, then you will want to be careful of the SEO implications. I'd honestly go with something responsive.

I think it's a good idea to mobilize your landing page, more and more people these days are using smart phones and tablets these days it's good to tap into that audience as well if you can.
