What can I expect to pay for a virtual assistant on Odesk?

Hey Warriors.

For Christmas I'd like a Virtual Assistant from ODesk to help my mom find a job as a medical receptionist or administrator. I'd like them for one month.

I've never hired anyone before. I typically won't spend more than $100 on a gift but for my mom I always go above it.

Let me know what you think friends...here's what I'd like the assistant to do...

I'd like them to apply to 300 jobs in our local area and edit her resume as well as create a basic Linked In profile for her...

If you want someone to edit your mom's resume - and do a good job - it would get pretty pricy.

Applying for jobs take a lot of time. It can take upwards of an hour to register for the application system, fill out surveys, upload resumes, etc.

For english speaking, proper grammar/resume writing skills AND to apply for jobs - I'd think like $10+/job.

Then if cover letters are required - that's a whole other fee.

If you don't really care about quality - you could probably hire someone in the philippines who will do it for $0.50/job.

That's pretty cool. I'd love to hear more about some of the tasks you give them.

Go look up virtual assistants on Odesk or Elance and look at their previous jobs. If they're not set as "private" you can usually see what they charged. Now that I think about it, most profiles for freelancers have their expected hourly rate.

Odesk and Elance are the go-to sites when hiring virtual assistants especially in the Philippines where you can hire a quality VA at a very reasonable price. Somewhere around $5/per hour.
Or, you can also try these guys from Staff.com. They have recruiters in the Philippines who can help you with everything until last process of hiring.
