Ok so am I on the right path?

So I found a product that i want to promote, and i set up a blog thru wordpress the free version for now. I'm adding tags to it, related to my niche, and also have sharing links on it, that links to tumblr, I also am updating my tumblr to my niche, and have several people sharing that. I have a twitter set up that people can follow thru my wordpress and tumblr. I am going to go to the premium wordpress, but just new at blogging, and have been updating a couple times a day. I'm using keywords in my blogs related to my niche also. I'm in the process of setting up a site for my niche, thru weekly and i want to know if its a good idea to buy the premium version of weekly to run my site on? The next thing I'm going to do is check out some blogs related to my niche and back link back to my wordpress..Is this a good idea?

I would also put in some list building in there, without a doubt, I never made a dime online until I incorporated a list building system into my business...

Now others here may have different opinions on this subject, but as for me I never got any results until list building was in place...

My self personally, I don't rely on SEO in no way shape or form, because I never got any results with it. I'm not saying SEO doesn't work, hopefully you have better luck at it than I did.. I just wasn't patient enough to wait weeks or even months for my keyword to rank and then not know if it would have a good conversion.

I stick to paid traffic as it is almost instant and once I found a winning campaign through tracking and testing, I scaled the traffic source immensely..

Well, you have a great work ethic, it's going to take you far. But what reasons did you have of choosing that product?

Before you go promote the product? Are you 100% sure that there is a need for it? How do you know people are willing to spend money on it? Who is willing to spend on it?

Sounds like you have the passion for this and sometimes getting stuck into things is a great way to learn.
Keep in mind that you want people to have something to see and read when they arrive at your site - so make sure the content on there is good and keep building it.
Articles, videos etc will help pre sell the customer and therefore more likely to click through to your offer.

    Good luck with it!

I agree with Michael about the list building. This is going to be your biggest asset in the long run. So never miss an opportunity to build your list and audience.

You next step therefore, might be to start to communicate with your list and to start to warm them to you.

    Good Luck

Michael was absolutely spot on. The old saying that the money is in the list is still true today and will always be true.

Congratulations on taking action that is the thing that most people don't do. I don't have very many posts here, but I have worked online businesses for well over 10 years. You are doing great and will eventually become very successful due to your work ethic.

yaa i'd have to agree. Rather then sending traffic to that product, build a list instead and have a follow up sequence that recommends different products. You will be able to create a measurable lifetime value from your subscribers, rather than just making a few one-off sales where you can't contact the customer ever again.

Better than Weebly or the free version of Wordpress is having your own site on your own hosting account. It doesn't have to be prohibitively expensive, you cna usually get domain name buying coupons by searching in Google an many hosting companies offer excellent deals on their smaller hosting packages.

When you do that, you will have more control over your site, more than if you are on wordpress dot com or weebly.

As far as your activities so far, you are light years ahead of most people, definitely on the right track and you are doing this with a positive attitude.

And those things will take you a long way forward.

Yeah the next task after the free ver. of wordpress or weebly is i want to set up hosting thru hostgator and hopefully be able to keep my domains, I'm really interested in the wordpress side of things, but can find myself hung up a lot with confusing things i might not know how to do, and well weebly, is just weebly. Seems to simple haha

Actually, you are not on the right path.
Since it is not a hobby site but you want to build a business - never, repeat: NEVER rely on 3rd party website that you don't own.
First of all, wordpress.com is NOT allowing you to have business blogs
(read their TOS before arguing about it <-- this is for every poster above!).

Any so-called free website is not your web property. They own it and they can delete it anytime, without even giving you a reason.

You can get a cheap domain for less then $10/year and a decent hosting for $5-10/month.

If that's too much... you may want to rethink your business strategy.

Yeah I'm going to go thru host gator and hopefully be able to keep my domains that I picked, and use wordpress thru that, As far as weebly goes, I like it, and i would like to learn more about it but as far as business is concerned I don't think it fits the profile... I'm just taking it one step at a time
