Money in Video Viewing Sites

I have always been curious about this prior to IM. Is there any money in these video viewing sites?

I have currently been using and watching:

Watch The Sopranos Online | Watch Full The Sopranos episodes online

They seem easy to make, the video hosting is provided by another business ie, putlocker. They must get a decent amount of traffic. Very suited for adsense, I assume.

In regard to the legal aspect how do they get away with providing free videos that they dont own? Im supposing the blame falls on putlocker not the site embedding it? Also the trademarked domain.

I just figure its dead easy to make these types of sites. Where is the downfall?

    It's kind of like how Youtube blames people for uploading the stuff and not themselves and Pinterest puts the blame on the picture submitters and not themselves. There's obviously a legal way around it, but it's almost like you have to build up some recognition and then go get a lawyer to help who thinks it's worth it.

    I don't know the legal problems with this but people manage to get round it somehow.

    I would just advise you to not waste time trying to do things like this to be honest because when the day comes that it all gets taken down you will have nothing left and most likely be banned from advertising networks and other important things.
