How to build Wordpress site within Facebook?

Hi,
A few years ago, I remember a product that allowed a wordpress site to be run within facebook.

I've tried searching for something similar now, and have come across some wordpress hosted services that would do the job, offering fan gates, tabs, competitions, etc etc. - eg FanBoom Offers - But, on searching, it appears that it is just for one page, and it is on their site, with monthly fees

So, ideally, I was wondering if there is a plugin/theme/framework that does similar, but is for running on my own sites.

Any advice welcome.

    The thread title seems to ask for something pretty weird, but sure - you can have single pages appear in Facebook tabs.

    I've been using Facebook Tab Manager, but unfortunately it has not been updated for some time. Last time I tried I couldn't get the like gate to work properly, even though rest of the plugin was fine.

    Added: there are also other plugins that I've not tried: WPBook and Facebook tabs for WordPress.

    You need to have a SSL certificate, because Facebook uses HTTPS connections.

      Hi,

      thanks for your response, yes, I wasn't sure what to call the title, to get the right responses for the thread, but you seem to have got the gist of it - thank you.

      The WSO that I purchased before was called "All-in-One Viral Toolkit" then I think facebook changed it's coding or requirements, and it broke, then the developer updated, and re-branded etc, but, after some searching for it now, I think he called it Fanbug, then Fanbuzz, and it seems to be associated with Simple Video Pro - all from Nick LaPolla

      I'm not sure if it still works, or is updated etc

      any help appreciated

    Create your Wordpress site as usual.

    Use a Facebook app to iframe the site inside your Facebook tab.

    Yeah, you can have a minimal page layout and just load the page in an FB iframe. It's not really any harder than that. I use the plugins mostly for like gate.

    Tab Manager gives you instructions on how to get the pages linked which is always nice. Facebook is not the easiest to play with.

      I had to fiddle with the sizing and coding a bit to get my pages to show up and look good, but an i-frame is the least techy way to do it. It was pretty simple.
