Communication errors are a business hazzard...

Here's my Thursday Motivation Pep Talk

Ever assume you thought you knew what someone was saying, only to discover that you completely misunderstood the person?

We often face misunderstandings on a daily basis. Most often this is a result from miscommunication.

**Common communication errors**

- Interrupting.

God gave us two ears and only one mouth... that's to do twice as much listening as we do talking. Interrupting often means we're assuming that we already know what the other person is going to say before they're finished...or we think they're wrong and we'd prefer to share our own opinion instead.

- Not listening.

Listening to customers (and your team members) is essential to building a successful business. Listening is a golden opportunity...so do lots of it! It should be at the top of your "essential business tools list."

- Not stating the obvious.

Whether outsourcing a project or simply communicating to someone on your team, don't assume that everyone knows what you're talking about. Make sure to clarify the obvious.

So, what helps you in keeping your business communications running smoothly?

Here's a little animation video I made just for the fun of it...
