What if I made a Warrior Forum Ebook?

For the past 1+ day, the whole warrior forum was down. I realized there is a lot of very good information on here which I would never get to read if the forum goes down, I have bookmarked threads which I couldn't get to during this time.

There are a lot of great threads, and within those threads, a handful of useful information. A lot of it which are concepts that will stand the test of time when it comes to internet marketing.

I am thinking of collecting all the useful information and making an ebook (with links back to the warrior forum for each piece of information).

I would give away the ebook for free as a reward for opting in to a newsletter.

Would this be frowned upon or would you like to have an ebook with all the useful information that currently exists in one place? Might be helpful for new people just starting out?

How are you going to get permission to use people's posts?

Would I need the permission of the people that made the post or the permission of Warrior Forum to reuse posts on their forum? Are forum posts considered copyrighted work by the forum poster?

I would like to know because if I have to get permission for each person, then that is way too much work, I would just keep the collected information for myself and not make it available to the public if that were the case.

The general rule of thumb is that as soon as you write something down, the copyright belongs to you (or the organization you're writing for). So you'd need everyone's permission. Plus, you'd be violating the TOS here.

Why not take what you've learned here and write your own ebook, in your own words?

That's your best option. Sort through the material, take out what you recognize as being valuable information, and create something useful and well-written that newbies can digest, and definitely in your own words. Tell your own story. Give it your voice.

Besides, a lot of people would just like to read the information in one book rather than be required to click links to several threads.

And you could write several ebooks, not just one. Give away some freebies, but promote and sell the more comprehensive stuff.

Much of that has already been covered In Paul's Handy Little Guide to the Warrior Forum

Also of the four posters bebore me two of them should join the WarRoom

It's the best deal for the money on the web.
