Product creation and free tutorials

Hey everyone just thought i would ask a bit of advice with regards to information product creation.

I want to create a course tutorial based product but after doing some research i find so many free tutorials on Youtube and through Google.

Is it making life difficult if I choose to create a product that solves a problem even thought the sollution could probably be found through Youtube or Google?

There is so much free information out there, why would anyone pay for it?

Any advice would be really appreciated.

Cheers

Rick

    1) It saves them the time of searching
    2) They assume you have success and real world experience in the niche

...and the number one reason which is actually a negative, this only applies to the MMO niche really...

    3) People are obsessed with the idea that there is some secrete to making money online, and cant help but think that perhaps 'this is the one that reveals this awesome super secrete'

True. Most of the information on just about anything can be found online nowadays, BUT the amount of time you need to invest to find these resources one by one and test them is enormous.

What you'll be doing is saving these people time by consolidating what already worked for you. That said, if you've had success in what you're doing go ahead and make a product/service around it. You are actually helping people by doing that.

Almost every topic you can think of there is free information on the internet about it.

Everybody has a different spin on things and that's what people are interested in.

In my experience the product becomes more valuable if you have a solid reputation behind it, so if you are known in your niche and have an existing following, people will but from you.

As someone who creates content for many warriors I want to say that it is the quality of the content and what it does to captivate your niche that really matters. Even the same information if presented in a real world success story with your unique twist makes a huge difference. Try to really make sure any content you produce or have created for you is supurb problem solving solution based content.

A lot of free info is also outdated or incomplete. People will purchase something that is timely and comprehensive, presented well, etc..,

This forum is a great example of how people will still pay for information that's available. I guarantee that 95% of the information in WSO's can be found either in this forum or elsewhere online.

People pay for the convenience, and the presentation. Present your product as something that they "need" to have.

Provide good enough value in your product, and people will buy it, even if the information can be found with a little digging around.

Why do people eat out when they could cook at home for cheaper?

Why do people pay others to wash their car when they could do it themselves?

It all comes down to convenience.

Time is more scarce than money for most people. Save them time and they will be happy to spend money.

    There is nothing FREE available.
Either you have to pay with money or pay with your time. Choice is yours.

Thanks everyone some great advice I appreciate it. I want to create a video course for photoshop but not sure how to narrow it down to solve people's problems, obviously the potential of photoshop is huge. But not sure what angle to take or whether people would buy the product.

Thanks again for all your help.
