I Just Wrote My First "Hard-Sell" E-Mail Follow-Up Message...I Feel Good!

I've finally written my very first "hard-sell" promotional e-mail in my autoresponder sequence.

It's a promotion for an affiliate product (which really is an INCREDIBLE product) for which I will receive a $8/month recurring commission if someone signs up past the free trial.

I basically outlined what it does and compared it to a similar product which doesn't have 10% of the features. The total cost is $19/month, and the product is laser-targeted to my niche.

Although I don't really want to take the affiliate patch (much), it'll be a week or two before I've finished creating my own product (a collection of eBooks tutorials I'm writing). I'm going to write copy for it and set it up on my website, although I'm really going to be promoting it to my list, and not so much the "cold" traffic.

The selling e-mail comes on the 15th day of the AR sequence. Post the selling e-mail, I have another e-mail that asks them if they had signed up and whether they are enjoying the free trial!

Should I put these 2 e-mails earlier on in the sequence? (the rest of the e-mails are all helpful, quality content, specifically tutorials)

Congrats, first let me say that. You took action. 2nd of all, you should never "hard-sell" especially in your email. Your email is supposed to pre-sell and lead to the click(destination of the click is a website). Once they click, then the page/sales letter..or whatever page does all the selling...

You are not supposed to sell in your email, you simply want an action and that action is to click on a link that leads to the destination that does all the selling.

I would probably look for a product that is paying more than just $8/month.

I've never read that before. Thanks for the information! So, what I should be doing is laying out a CTA that directs them to the product's copy.

Pretty soon, I'll have my own product, and it will be priced between $30-$50 (and it's a good 'un, too. As far as I know, no other marketer has every created a related product before.)

The reason I promote this product is because it works excellently in conjunction with my future product.

$8/month that is waaaaaay pretty low my friend. People are looking to buy stuff, dont deny them the luxury.

On the 15th day you're going to be lucky if they remember you and what they originally signed up for...

You're not dealing with a buyers list, you're dealing with a standard optin list.

Hit them with your offer right away, when it's ready, then go for monthly commission in the backend. Not sure about the $30-$50 price point, but to each their own... I would get them qualified, at a lower price point, get them in the door as a buyer, then offer them continuity.

I would recommend within 24-72 hours.... any longer and a serious amount of 'depreciation' occurs...

Taking the advice of some fellow Warriors, I e-mail them 6 times a week, with a break on the 7th day.

I have a couple CTAs in previous e-mails.

If it's such an incredible product, aren't you doing your list a disservice by only promoting it in the 15th message? Yes, you are.

It is called pre-sell in an e-mail, we will write reviews for one affiliate program, and the hard-sell work is done by the sales page of the affiliate program.
