What is your favorite non hosted blogging platform?

I realize we all love Wordpress and rightly so. But for those who might want to just get something started without setting up a hosting account for their blog, what do you suggest? Blogger, Wordpress.org or something else?

    I will love blogger, It is light easy to use and Manage. In built integration with Google + to get huge Readers. Since its a Google Product so it is good for seo.

    For non hosted blogging platform, I vote Blogger.

    For hosted on a domain, I vote Wordpress. For long term business, I vote Wordpress software that hosted on a domain.

    Another vote for blogger. Wordpress free hosted will shut you down for marketing or promotion.

    Wordpress.org is the self-hosted version JP, Wordpress.com is the free online version, and they are not keen on people using it for self-promotion.

    Blogger.com is perhaps the best free platform, but remember any free platform can shut down and/or remove your site at anytime and for whatever reason, they are fine to practice on but never rely on them for business, if you are all serious get self-hosting as soon as possible.

    You could get more internal traffic leverage by using Squidoo or Hubpages, but these platforms are much stricter and limit what you can link to promotion-wise.

    "WordPress" (capital W, capital P) is the name of the app, not "Wordpress.org"
    And then "WordPress.com" is a site that provides free sites based on the WordPress platform.
    There is no "org vs. com".

    Not doing anything at all.

    This is like saying "We all love building houses out of stone, but if your only options were beach sand or mountain sand, which would you prefer?"

    Hosting for wordpress is 5 bucks a month. If you can't afford $5 then your time and effort would be better spent elsewhere.

    There is no "org vs. com".
    There is certainly (needless) discussion of ".org vs.com."

    Some cause-oriented hackers recently hacked one of my websites. So I researched what they're about and then donated a large sum of money to the entity they hate the most.

    The next time they hack one of my websites I'm going to donate DOUBLE.

      It really depends on what you are trying to accomplish, what type niche or marketing you are trying to do.

      If you are looking to leverage the authority of the platform, you can compare these blogging sites against Alexa. I think wordpress.com has a US ranking of like 17. Now that is authority that has some legitimate leverage behind it. If you pick a niche on a domain like that which doesn't have a ton of blogs already writing about the same content or topics you want to write about.. It would seem you could leverage that platform quite well to meet your cause. :rolleyes:
