Alternative for Odesk Outsourcing?

Is there a credible reliable alternative for Odesk for hiring Philippine outsorcers, as Odesk now sets hour prices for freelancers?
Anybody having good experiences elsewhere? Good Advice?

    bestjobs.ph
    fiverr

all the three above are good for outsourcing for quality work.

If you are looking for RESULTS instead of merely paying for people to 'try' to do things within a given block of time, try Fiverr. Alternatively, try the warrior for hire section here at WF. Granted, there are certain situations where it makes sense to pay for effort instead of results. For the most part, however, outsourcing on odesk and other time-based platforms doesn't produce a high enough RETURN ON INVESTMENT to be worth the bother.

bestjobs.ph and easyoutsource are good places for hourly workers. I'd say here at Warrior is good for guaranteed services when you need SEO/content writing.

  • eLance is good if you're not worried about going through a lot of trial and error.

virtualstafffinder.com is the best if you want to be sure you'll get someone good. They screen everyone so they only recommend good VAs.

I am constantly amazed at the quality of work I get done on fiverr. This site has really developed over the years. I highly recommend it. I use it for almost everything. I've also tried elance and easyoutsource and have had SOME luck, but also some really bad experiences. On elance, I've paid over $200 for some services that people have done faster and better for $5-$20 on fiverr. Try it out

I find I muddle through a lot of stuff that I'm not sure will really help me. Then I tried buying a few things and it didn't really do much for me. I'd be interested on some specifics.

You are right. Actually Fiverr and other such big names are just going on the reputation which they built in the past. The present position has very much degraded. All sort of newbies and rookies have flooded these sites for making some easy money and unfortunately they are making money at the cost of people who go for their false and inflated reputation.

Presently, I find that SEOClerks.com is the best place to outsource all your web authoring, SEO and all other digital tasks. The prices are low and quality of service is high.

Of those mentioned here, I prefer Elance over all. There's a seriously large pool of talent on that website and yes you'll need to go through an interview process (via Skype, usually) but it's worth it in the end.

It depends on what you want to get done?

Do you want one of projects, or consistent work on projects that are coming through?

I use Fiverr for all my one off stuff, and Warriorforum of course!

For consistent jobs that I need done (full time employees) I use onlinejobs.ph.

You can hire a full time graphic designed for $300 a month or so, depending on skills or expertise.

What they're doing is really crappy: they're performing "beta tests" wherein some--but not all--freelancers are prohibited from bidding below $3.00/hour, and in some cases, $4.00/hour.

What's crappy about it is that this "minimum wage" is not universal; while some contractors are forced to abide by those minimums, other contractors are free to bid whatever they want. Being as most clients will award their projects to the lowest bidder, this gives an unfair advantage to the contractors not being forced to abide by the "minimum wage."

My feeling is that if they are going to run these "tests," or officially establish a "minimum wage," it should be universal. Everyone should be made to play by the same rules. That is what is equitable.

Don't forget about Microlancer. The same company behind FreelanceSwitch (Envato) is now putting their efforts behind this new job board/elance-esque job site.

Just a heads up! Elance and Odesk are merging. Just came across my email about an hour or so ago. If you are looking at them as an alternative, you might want to reconsider.

However, there are a number of alternatives, such as PostJoint (premium) to even Craigslist for finding qualified buyers for your services. The number of job boards for marketing services is growing. Do a Google search and see which one fits your needs.

Hopefully it's elance taking over oDesk.

Biggest problem I found with oDesk is that there was a massive pool of freelancers who were just looking to make extra income and not serious business people.

Sal - conversely, many of the clients on oDesk and Elance aren't serious businesspeople. I'm hoping the merger will ultimately attract larger and more stable client companies looking to build long-term relationships with freelancers, instead of people posting one-off, nickel-and-dime gigs.

Try Fiverr. It's a great place to outsource work from. But then, you really can't tell..because the place is open to everyone - including people who found a great opportunity to earn money, even if they lack skills and talent. I suggest that you look at customer testimonials and work with people who have excellent customer ratings. Then, start with a small order only, so you can test the service first before working with the person with a long term project. Good luck!

But, it depends on what you want to outsourcing, if you want an article, I recommended epicwriter.com. It's really good result, the article is SEO friendly, we can determine the keywoard density (1%, 1.5%, etc), pass copyscape premium, editing if the article doesn't meet our criteria.

However, as for other great alternatives that directly hire Filipino outsourcers, you can try the following:

    and

I'm a complete newbie myself. I researched a bunch into the various platforms. From what I can tell, Odesk seems like an utter joke. I saw various people asking for multiple articles that stacked up into the thousand words range, and the payment was about £2.50 for the lot. To put that in perspective: that pays for one tube journey. Don't make me laugh.

SEOClerks.com seems like a much better platform, I put up some gigs there and making sales.

Odesk name has been changed to Upwork. I am sure there are two hiring system in the Upwork. There is no doubt. One can hire a freelancer at the hourly rate system or, fixed rate system. So it is really easy for everyone. Beside the Upwork, you can use the Elance. It also the same system. Even you can use the Freelancer or, vworker also. It is not important that you must use the Philippine freelancer, you can use any expert freelancer. Beside the Philippine there are many expert freelancer around the world. Best of luck. Thanks
