Any thoughts on what i should do with this domain?

I have once again purchased an anxiety-related domain (as I have solid knowledge-base around the subject).

I am thinking of 3 options.

1. Put a 2 page site/email capture on it with an offer, and try and build a list from there.

2. Add lots of quality content and focus on a variety of keywords, add articles, syndicate them see where that leads.

3. Have the .index as the email capture, with an option to go to the main site. Then offer good information, with occasional links to recommended products. etc.

I have only ever focussed before on number 2. I have said this before here and found that ROI in terms of effort just was not there - to be fair I only used amazon products so maybe consider products with better return.

Very open to suggestions. If it can build a list without the need for the large information site behind it then it might be pointless building the site...but I might just be missing out on so much more that I have not even considered.

Any guidance or thoughts would be massively appreciated!

Option 1 only makes sense if your domain gets a lot of type in traffic
Option 2 is the standard way of doing things
Option 3 is an attempt at a hybrid method
The real answer depends on how much time and passion you have to devote to this project. If you're the type that likes to start stuff then drops everything after a few months, option 1 is the way to go. If you are the type that can stick with something for YEARS or however long it takes, take option 2. Option 2 means doing things even if there is little to no reward.

In my opinion, any of the 3 options will work. It depends on what you want to do with your domain. You can use it to build a list without a large content site behind it. You can build it out to be an authority on the subject or a combo of both. You choose.

So would you say I am going along the right lines with all of this?

    Writeaway, thanks for the reply!

As you can probably tell I am still trying to work this all out

Is it also common/standard to have various other email captures on other pages? For example my last site was titled specific to anxiety...this domain is more related to positive living, so there is more scope to pitch towards anxiety, meditation, even healthy eating and holistic therapies. Is it a good idea to try and work a few from the same domain, and promote it via bitly so it takes users through to whatever topic is being promoted? Or just focus on one offer/capture only per domain? (hope that question makes sense!!)

    Kind regards

    A.

Yes. I am currently doing both. I have one site I'm setting up strictly for list building and I have another site I'm trying to make an authority on my topic. You can also list build with a large content site, there is nothing that says you can't. For example, on my large content site I have a "join my newsletter" optin box on every single page in the sidebar and it has built up a little over 250 subscribers so far without me ever pushing it and the site is about 4-5 months old.
