building a list and affiliate marketing? How does the process work?
I'm rather new to all this so please excuse my ignorance. I've started to read about list building, affiliate marketing etc. but it not reamlly clear to me how this all fits together. Let me explain: I understood from the books articles that I read that building your list from day one is crucial. Ok. So I putup a signup form (with a freebie) so that people signup for my newsletter. Some will, some won't.
Now they go further into my site and they click on an affiliate link. What I understood is , that you now send them to a landing page where you presell them the product . But what to do at the end? For someone that is already subscribed to my list, I don't wan't to ask the their email again before sending them to the affiliate offer. However, for those that did NOT subscribe, I DO want to collect their email before sending them through. Similarly, when I customer has already bought something through my site (and I have his email adress already) , I don't want to ask him everytime again his email adress evertime I redirect him to an affiliate offer. I still seem to be missing something here in the process.
Can anyone explain, or recommend a could source/article/book how all these things are tied together? I seem to understand the individual bits and pieces, but not how it all fits together.
Thank you
