What do you think about my new site?

Hi all,

I have just launched what I believe to be a very strong product, in an up and coming niche. It is a software product and I have just finished getting everything finished for the site (copy and graphics etc)

I would really value all of your feedback as although I have done this all before I always find the best way to improve something is to keep your ears open to other peoples opinions. Especially those who are experienced!
(Like the WF members)

Any and all feedback is extremely welcomed! (including constructive criticism)

The site is here:

Thanks in advance everyone!

    Josh,

Looks good to me man. As someone already mentioned, maybe a couple proof screenshots might help, but otherwise looks awesome.

    Twitter's hot right now.

    Good luck,

    ~D.C.

Thanks for all the encouraging comments guys! Its nice to see people think it looks good, you know what its like when you stare at something for so long you get sick of it!

Im thinking, does anyone want a free copy and setup on their site in return for a video testimonial? I am trying to grab a few video testimonials of how good the application is to use etc as I think thats obviously pretty powerful.

If anyone is interested, PM me and I will sort it out.

    Thanks

      Hi,

Your page looks great. Clean and balanced.

I think you could use a few more trust devices on the page. Definitely a strong statement below the opt-in box - something about privacy and not sharing details. Your T&C's hardly inspire confidence - a separate privacy statement may be an idea.

Also perhaps some well known logos below the order now button - visa, paypal etc, and some security logos/statements such as SSL.

I think that's an interesting concept you're on to, and can see how the right offer could quickly result in an exponential surge of traffic.

Although not the original purpose of this thread, it would be interesting to get your thoughts on a couple of things:

You are asking people to give you their twitter user names and passwords, have you experienced much resistance to that? I am guessing that's why the offer is so strong and would have to be very compelling.

Also, what would be your concerns about copycat products?

It will be interesting to see how this goes for you, please keep us posted and the best of luck with your project.

      Best Regards,

      Phil

I like your site design but you probably need some site examples using your software and testimonials.

      Akky,
Thanks for the purchase and kind words!!

You bought it so quickly we haven't had time to finish our video tutorial which we are going to give away with the product on how to set it up. (We do include detailed instructions and it is easy but video always makes things simple!)

PM me and I will send this over to you as soon as its finished and let me know what you think of the product. I will be very interested to hear your thoughts.

Look forward to hearing from you.

    Hi Josh

Very good presentation. Your site also looks very clean and fresh, one of the best I have seen.

Nice complimentary graphics and not tons of padding to wade through.

I'm certain this will be a big success for you.

Josh, congrats on your new site.

I like the layout and the niche. I think adding some performance specifics would improve conversion. In other words, move the reader from theory to actual results.

    Keep up the good work.

I can agree with all that is said above but why don't you display the price?

Do you think that collecting names and email addresses from people who simply want to know the price is part of the new wave of list building tecniques? It is certainly a very prevalent practice nowadays.

You might not like what I say - but I believe it.
Build it, make money, then build some more
Some old school smarts would help - and here's to Rob Toth for his help. Bloody good stuff, even the freebies!

Thanks for the helpful comments Phil.

To answer your questions, I guess creating trust as you suggest is vitally important because thats what will make people feel comfortable with providing their info. Saying this, it is becoming more and more common, especially with Twitter apps (Whether they help you automate something or track followers on Twitter etc) to ask for the login details to be able to provide the service. Therefore I think people are getting more and more used to it. (Within my target market anyway)

There is actually another way which doesnt require us to take the details at all, the user simply is taken to Twitter, logs in and then is taken back to our site.
What are your thoughts on this method? Would that make you happier to provide your details?

I personally feel it obviously eases any worry because you are providing the details directly into Twitter but at the same time see the massive negative of taking people away from you main offer page automatically etc and creating a loss of "focus" on the offer by the time they return, if they do at all.

We can technically do either or both methods to achieve the result and have toyed with the idea of adding both into the admin area of the product and letting the user of the app select which they feel would work with their site, product and market.

What are your thoughts on this?

As for being concerned about copycat products, I think the barrier to entry for creating a quality software product is higher than creating an information product. (Thats not to say creating information products are easy etc but at present I just think the barrier to creating your own product from scratch is higher for a software product)

We also focus alot on usability, stability and quality of the app itself so I think that keeps us in good stead, hopefully being the first with the concept and then aligning that with a strong product helps us stay ahead and grab at least a decent amount of the potential market share out there before copycats come along.

On top of that we are already working on upgrades to the basic system which have some quite cool features and staying ahead by evolving the product should help us not have to worry about copycats.

I hope that answers your questions. Let me know your thoughts and thanks again for the useful comments.

      Artwebster,
We actually display the price at the end of the video. I am toying with the idea of putting a line saying "watch the entire video to find out the special offer price" or similar to spell this out to people?
I thought not having the price might make more people click play out of curiosity and avoid the "scroll down, check price, make decision" group of people. (Like I can be prone to doing myself)

It does seem to be a trend now, and I personally believe in transparency and am not sure I am ethically comfortable with making people sign up to find out the price of a product. It probably works quite well though so perhaps its worth doing?
      What are your thoughts?

Do you think its a negative we dont display the price on the page too? Would it put you off the product or offer?

Thanks again everyone for the useful and encouraging comments!!

I will work to get some examples up showing it being used on different sites along with testimonials etc as suggested.

My main problem at present is finding people I can do that with and then use the info.
If any of you want to get involved in helping out by using your site or providing a written or video testimonial and I will sort out a free copy of the software for you in return. (and be very greatful. I am also happy to look at perhaps doing a video testimonial in return for your product if it is decent quality and you do one for me because I feel video testimonials are really powerful and I would love to gather a few for this site)

Does anyone have any feedback on the video content or website copy itself? I would be interested to know what people think?

      Thanks again..
